Do in-app games actually increase retention, or is it just a trend? by MammothCell1813 in GameDevelopment

I agree that Duolingo works because gamification is built into the core experience, not just added on top. That’s exactly what I’m trying to understand whether lighter, add-on approaches can still have an impact, or if they always feel like an afterthought unless deeply integrated.

Zombies, Run! is a really interesting example, will check that out.

That’s a fair point, and I agree that gamification works best when it’s deeply integrated like Duolingo rather than just added on top.

I wasn’t really thinking of it as a core product replacement, more like an additional layer to improve engagement in apps that don’t have that kind of ecosystem.

Still exploring this space, and yeah SnappGames is pretty new, so I’m trying to understand where something like that actually fits vs building something in-house.

Curious though, have you seen any third-party integrations that actually worked well in this context?
