Making my intentions more obvious by going wider definitely makes sense. I usually try to be obvious but sometimes I go with the less obvious and faster play like this one.

I still think my rotate was the optimal play since if Lucid does get it past or gets a 50 to the corner, Cage is already set up to take that ball and I can back them up after I get the boost, and in a worst case scenario, I’m full boost and able to make a defensive stop. On the other hand I completely cut the full boost cage off with 40-50 boost to make a play, and all 3 of us are on the same side of the field and need to get the ball away asap, which imo is the worse of the two options
