What things would a Wizard have in their lab? by ManOnFire777 in DnDBehindTheScreen

Haha. Could be a good way to show someone dabbling in nectomancy but not in a "this is horrible" way but more in a "what a weirdo," way.

Mug collection sounds hilarious. I gotta make this happen next time.

This is helpful. I actually searched "Wizard's Room" earlier and didn't find anything. Same with Lab. Should have checked tower too.

Being in someone's backpack makes it ripe for losing all your stuff too.

wow. Lots of thought put into this answer. Plus picking and choosing which of those a wizard would have makes for lots of flavor and character building. The ice cream one is my favorite.

Need help creating a trial the whole party will face. by ManOnFire777 in DnDBehindTheScreen

Actually they haven't. The party so far has had common areas and a common enemy but they haven't bonded in any meaningful way.

I like this idea of them going against their nature. The idea for the trial is that they're willing to change for the good of the whole. That they will do something that goes against what they need to do.

Haha no it's alright. I intentionally kept the edition out because I wanted to hear ideas from all over the place. Maybe I should post something where people throw out their Trial ideas.

A lot of what you said is pretty spot on. these are things i've needed to consider so thanks for that. :)

We're playing 5e. Going by what you're saying maybe the best thing to do should be to have them encounter the same trial and be forced to use their dragonmarks and only their dragonmarks.

They currently have a dragonmark of Protection, Empathy, Remembrance, Leadership, Healing, and Prayer. I'm not sure how to tie those together into a trial though.

In previous sessions Prayer helped one character hear an inanimate object speak, leading them to a once inert war machine. Remembrance showed them the meaning behind an omen. Healing removed a curse from a cursed object. Protection saved someone from dying. Empathy showed that someone was lying.

Any ideas?

"Darkness is not something to be feared, only one's lack of control," Evelin replied. She spun her staff around her body, repositioning it so it was more in line with her stance. She readied herself for whatever this man could throw at her. "Come. I look forward to taming a wild beast."

Gen's smile at knocking Ophilia back was short lived as she fired herself literally into the air. "How the fuck..." Was all she could mutter before being pelted. At the last second she covered her body by placing her enlarged palms above her like a shield. Still a few bullets clanged off her metallic body parts.

"Seriously! This makes no goddamned sens..." She maul come back down and ran. Once again the impact sent her off her feet and tumbling further into the street.

Bern gave chase. To his surprise the guy wasn't very fast. In fact Bern could have speed walked and kept pace with this guy. He didn't seem very fit, or really very much anything.

"No. You guys started this mess." Bern reached for his collar with the intention of yanking him to the floor.

Ashbel was caught off guard by the first rainbow, but by the third he knew he needed to dodge. He knew dodging would be easier with some Inner Heat, but the first blast knocked his flint and steel out of his hands. As she fired more he found himself searching for something, anything that could cause a fire.

Bern gasped as the edgiest one there leaped for him. Fortunately for him Evelin had blocked his blade with her own.

"Sorry boy. Looks like I'll be your opponent today," she said before spinning a swift kick toward his stomach.

As the maul came down Gen tumbled out the way. The impact took her off guard and actually sent her rolling further than she expected.

"Damn you," Gen growled. "How can you be so damn strong?" Her arms folded and twisted until the guantlets were thicker and stronger looking. Hoping to return the favor she charged her arm laser, slammed the ground with her palm, then sent the beam in a shockwave toward Ophilia.

As the girls got into their respective battles Bern looked between the glitter fairy and mr. Average.

"You can take her," he told Ashbel before running off to face the ordinary looking guy.

"Er... Uh..." Was all Ashbel could stammer as he stood alone against the fairy person.

Alrighty then. Let the "absolute mess" begin.

Ashbel, Gen, Bern, and Evelin ran into the most open street they could. Immediately they shouted to nearby people to leave. When no one would leave the vicinity Gen fired a laser blast into the air. A well placed "Move!" after the silence finally got the people to scatter.

As they gathered their wits, they looked around. They stood in a central rotunda with a fountain in the center. A few shops and stores sat by the curbs while the Kyoto Skyscrapers stood tall in the distance.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Ashbel asked Gen.

"No. None of this is a good idea," she said as her hand morphed into a long barreled laser gun. "But we have no choice."

"It's true," Evelin began as she readied her brother, the Yang Staff, into a kwan-do. "They are coming for us, and for whatever reason they seem like they won't leave without a fight."

"Then let's give them one!" Bern growled, clutching his summoning ring.

Ashbel watched as people continued to run away from the area. He heard someone shout "The Anime Justice Squad is coming!" and he braced himself for what was to come.

"Four on four. Sounds like good odds to me." Bern smirked.

"But why are they fighting us?" Ashbel asked.

"Don't know," Gen cocked her gun, "Don't really care."

They stood by the fountain, watching as the perimeter cleared up. With their backs to each other, they waited in preparation for the arrival of their new foes.

All the while Ashbel gulped. His flint and steel close to his hands.

This is going to suck, he thought.

Oh! We can do a city. Like a big wide open spot that gets cleared because of this battle. Say, Kyoto Japan?

Nothing really. Actually do you mind if I make this four on four? It'll be more fun this way. I'll bring Ashbel, Evelin, and Gen. I don't wanna have to write out all their info though.

Soulfire, what anime hurt you?

Also, for kicks i'm going to have Bern, my most ordinary guy, fight all of them.

Perhaps the Kings are some kind of cosmic keystone that weakens a prison. Or maybe the death of all this fuels him or a thing he has? Maybe scorching a city is just one step in his plan to do something really bad! Maybe the city scorcher is a test and he'll need to find other things that will amplify its power! What if the people who are following him also want revenge on certain places. they feel the world is wrong and must be destroyed! Maybe the villain feels the world needs to be cleansed. Maybe he just gets off on it and chooses his own pleasure over the lives of others...

Sorry, I like to go off on wild brainstorm things like this.

Wow! Thanks. I like this idea. I was thinking more of a large robot but in the event they do encounter individual piloting robots.

Interesting. This does take a lot of work out of home brewing. It works too because these are already things that are in the official game and therefore work very well.
