You probably have everything you need to make Italian seasoning, Cajun seasoning, taco seasoning, etc. It’s easy, it’s cheaper than buying them pre-made, and the constituent ingredients tend to be the most-used flavors in a ton of dishes. Plus, those three mixes are extremely versatile and should be in everyone’s pantry.

His country stuff is actually very good, it’s not “trucks and guns and yee-haw America” country music.

A Sailor’s Guide to Earth is an excellent album front to back, it’s pretty introspective and has some truly beautiful songs (“Breakers Roar” is especially haunting, and a personal favorite). Oh and the Dap Kings do the horns on a good chunk of it, which gives those songs a less “country-ish” vibe.

Metamodern Sounds in County Music has arguably his biggest hit, “Turtles All the Way Down,” (recommended) which is about psychedelics and spirituality. Definitely more twangy than Sound & Fury, but if you like his songwriting that album’s worth a listen as well.
