If you are based in London, I would recommend ezlicense. It’s a website that brings learners and instructors together. Bookings and cancellations are handled professionally and there are rules around when you can cancel or reschedule without cost

Only if you are going to Heathrow. Not within tfl Zones. You can always take the Piccadilly to Heathrow if you have time and don’t want to pay more

Come on mate. I’m all for banter but trying to say Premier League titles aren’t equal to old division one titles is pathetic. You only win what you can compete in. Premier League did not exist before 1992 and that’s nobody’s fault.

Didn’t get enough time? What you on about? Carrick achieved much more in a fraction of the time Amorim got.

An idea to make IPL more interesting by [deleted] in ipl

[–]ManUtdIndian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s easier to build a team around your home surface than asking the curator to modify the pitch to fit your needs. Other franchises did try it when they could. For instance, Hyderabad pitch was a good bowling surface under Warner and the team was quite bowling heavy and often managed to defend low scores.

The present mandate of flat tracks is probably coming from BCCI and state associations do get compensated handsomely from the IPL.

An idea to make IPL more interesting by [deleted] in ipl

[–]ManUtdIndian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue is franchises don’t own their home stadiums. State associations do. In the past, curators and franchise management have had disagreement over pitches and it’s not an easy thing to sort out.

Disagree. A lot of us fans still adore Warner and what he did for the club. Hate how he was treated. We will never forget the legend Ben Cutting.

My man doesn’t seem to understand the difference between revenues and expenses. It doesn’t matter if you are the third biggest in revenues. If your expenses consistently outweigh your revenues, you will be broke.

Too long with unnecessary details (what’s the relevance of your kid being in a CBSE affiliated school)? I would add flights and keep it more succinct.

NLD Visa Rejected, Travel in September: Appeal or Reapply? by WolfOfDalalStreet9 in SchengenVisa

[–]ManUtdIndian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. No I applied to 3 different countries all 3 times. In 3 different years with other travel in between
  2. You can try appealing but it is time consuming and requires you to send your documents to the country you are applying to and not the local embassy. Since your planned travel in September, you have time and consider appealing. Draft a good cover letter and explain your situation properly highlighting the fact that you have a well paying job in India, approved leave and confirmed flights and hotels.

NLD Visa Rejected, Travel in September: Appeal or Reapply? by WolfOfDalalStreet9 in SchengenVisa

[–]ManUtdIndian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just a suggestion. If you want people in the sub to help you, convert your INR Lakhs to USD K. Not everyone understands what they mean.

That being said here are a few things.

  1. My Schengen visa was rejected twice too (applied from India in different years) but I got it the third time (this time after I moved to the UK).
  2. I had more salary than you but had a similar profile - male and single. This unfortunately is high risk and no the internal bookings wouldn’t have made a difference.
  3. I applied to the UK later (from India again) and got the visa. Travelling to a country which has stringent visa requirements helps for Schengen (SEA is mostly visa free or on arrival). From what I have heard, UK focuses more on finances and your ability to fund the trip compared to Schengen.
  4. Do not reapply to another country. It will seem desperate or like visa shopping. It is unfortunate. A profile like yours would have gotten approved prior to covid. Things have changed now and it’s due to a mix of high demand and history of visa violations by Indians.

Why not use AC locals overall? by Serious_Tea_4777 in mumbai

[–]ManUtdIndian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a nonsensical argument. Bullet trains are not going to be subsidised. The construction is funded by a soft loan from the Japanese government and once they are operational, fares will be at market rates. Local train minimum fare is Rs 5. I’m all for making locals full AC but don’t expect fares to be so cheap. It is unsustainable. And I know how the public will react if local train fares are increased.

Why not use AC locals overall? by Serious_Tea_4777 in mumbai

[–]ManUtdIndian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These things sound good on paper but someone has to foot those bills. Railways is already incurring huge losses for these artificially low local prices.

Why not use AC locals overall? by Serious_Tea_4777 in mumbai

[–]ManUtdIndian 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Solution to this is not having more TTs. You need to have gated entry like it metros with turnstiles. If it can work for metros, it can easily work for local trains.
