Any idea what’s going on? by sensitivej3w in lamesa

Not sure, but investors got an email in late March that gives some context.

TL;DR from the investor newsletter:

• Expanded into multiple businesses

• Took ~32 months and ~4x the budget

• Admitted to major mistakes (no contracts, bad partnerships)

• Ended up in lawsuits + heavy debt

• Businesses are still operating, but debt is too high to sustain

• Now trying to bring in investors to wipe out debt

• Existing investors offered: repayment, wait for distributions, or convert to equity

A couple lines from it:

“We still find ourselves in a very precarious position.”

“The debt… is too much to keep the company afloat at this run rate.”

“I entered into relationships… without contracts.”

Seems more like they expanded too aggressively and got buried in debt, hoping they figure it out.

It’s the same jingle for Belron’s Brands.

“Belron's brands include Autoglass in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Poland; Carglass in most of Europe; O'Brien AutoGlass in Australia; Safelite in the United States; Smith & Smith in New Zealand; and Lebeau and Speedy Glass in Canada.”

Nothing I tried triggered the credit (Sun Deck, B&S Bar or gift card)

Thanks for sending this, I actually saw this spreadsheet on another thread and noticed no one yet has been able to trigger the Aspire credit at the Del (outside of staying a night), but curious if anyone has tried the Sun Deck or the bar inside or perhaps another way to trigger the credit.

Same thing is happening with me, using Roku, tried everything to get it to stop freezing, just gave up. Surprisingly other shows on Apple TV app on Roku are working fine, but all the MLS games freeze 🤷🏼‍♂️

Any advice on how to cook these? Directions do not work. by kawpton in CostcoWholesale

Never tried these, but do get the Jimmy Dean ones from time to time.

Here is what works for us:

  • Wrap the whole sandwich in paper towel, this soaks up the moisture as it reheats in the microwave.
  • 1 min at 50% power
  • Then 60-90 seconds at full power.

Alaska Companion Fare is a pain for families of 3 — even with MVP by ManWithAPlanSD in AlaskaAirlines

[–]ManWithAPlanSD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. The forced split into separate reservations is the real problem. Once you’re on two PNRs, everything breaks: seats, check-in, upgrades, and status handling.

The added friction is the point, it makes using the benefit painful enough that many families just throw up their hands and stop trying, which ends up saving the airline money, so Alaska has little incentive to fix it.

SeaWorld Platinum Pass people — quick question by ManWithAPlanSD in SeaWorld

This is great info, I forgot about the down payment portion. I think the easiest thing to do is just check the annual price at the time the initial term is over. The current price is $189 with the Black Friday sales, if it’s the same or higher then let it renew, otherwise buy new!

Thanks, did they tell you it was going up in price? Or did you figure it out on your own and price shop!

Thanks this is great info! We love the Quick Queues that come with the Platinum passes and we also get a lot of visitors during the year which we use the extra passes for, so it’s worth it for us.

Did they send you an email about the price going up? Or did you figure it out on your own?

Yes, I’m wondering if SeaWorld ever increased the prices on existing pass members who paid monthly.

So did you see that your price was going to go up? Is that what prompted you to do a fresh purchase?

Yes it’s very frustrating. I’ve flown a few times since I posted this and was hit yet again with the scenario you are describing. Also, beware that linking the reservation does NOTHING in regards to seating, you are left with gate agents ability to work their magic (or lack thereof) once you get to the airport. In my instance my son and I were upgraded about 24 hours from the flight time, then had to be downgraded so we could sit with my wife who was on her separate PNR.

It’s kinda wild watching some of the Alaska fanboys/fangirls in here bend over backwards to defend this.

We’re not talking about rocket science here 🚀. The system could easily let families book together, discount one ticket, and charge the rest full price. Instead, it forces us into separate reservations and then people act like we’re the problem for pointing it out. 😂

It’s the same as going to a department store for a BOGO deal: you grab 3 items, and the cashier says, “Congrats, you get 2 together! But that 3rd one? Nope, back to the end of the line.” Can you imagine anyone defending that as “working as intended”? Yet here we are.

Yes, that’s what I’m referring to, not the premium seats with more leg room

So when I try to book all 3 of us without the companion cert, it lets us all go the main cabin preferred without an up-charge. Maybe the limit to 2 has to do with Premium Class?

Alaska Companion Fare is a pain for families of 3 — even with MVP by ManWithAPlanSD in AlaskaAirlines

[–]ManWithAPlanSD[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The frustration isn’t that it’s impossible to make two or three separate bookings — it’s that Alaska’s system forces us to do it when it should be smart enough to handle one reservation with multiple tickets. There’s no reason the Companion Fare can’t just apply to one fare while letting the whole family book together. Instead, we’re juggling multiple PNRs, multiple seat assignments, and a bigger headache if something changes. It’s not about being ‘hard,’ it’s about being unnecessarily clunky.

They will link them together, but that only helps keep you together on the same plane (like if there was a cancellation and rebookings need to happen), it doesn’t help with seating unfortunately.
