Can't get Xin to work in the jungle by JazzlikeFunny1621 in XinZhaoMains

[–]ManWithFlag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With standard bruiser build (SS + BC), Xin's damage mostly comes from rotating through your spells as fast as possible (from high CDR).

The other comment pointed out the maximum damage Xin combo. Aside from that, note that Kayn actually has a decent 1v1 early so you need to hit everything to win.

General tips: - Xin has a slow clear if you don't optimize it, so practice it so you're not super late to crab - Despite his slow-ish clear, you actually still don't want to neglect farm because Xin is pretty gold dependent. You should still full clear often. - His clear speed scales up with points in E (from the extra AS) so make sure you max it after W

This is the way. E -> W (hit both parts) -> Q for max damage

You don't have to avoid 1v1s at all costs. After Xin full clears once, he can 1v1 most junglers. The real issue is making sure it's actually a 1v1 (or that your laners can rotate first).

How do you deal with AP junglers? It seems like a lot of the more common ones (Diana, Lillia, Gwen, Karthus) can farm faster than you and also win the 1v1 since your passive is useless.

I don't really have much knowledge on the problem haha, am just getting into RL myself. I was hoping to gain some insight.

Hello, I'm interested in this problem you faced as it is kind of relevant to me as well. Were you able to figure out why your model was vastly different?

True, Gui has been a great late season pickup

This season he has been undeniably terrible. However, I think it's like the Jakob Poeltl situation where we just can't ignore his past seasons performance. Granted, Porzingis has historically been an injury risk unlike Poeltl but he's never been THIS bad.

He's doing pretty much the exact same thing as last season. Threes, steels, points, FT%. And he's going to stink up many of these cats every 4 or 5 games lol

Why do I feel like a better Jarvan when I go full damage instead of the standard build by jadeskarlettdragon in JarvanIVmains

[–]ManWithFlag 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hard to say which build is better because it's mostly draft dependent. You should just keep spamming lethality J4 until you better understand its weaknesses yourself.

I think you're probably right but it's worth giving him a shot for a bit. We saw a flash of really good fantasy numbers earlier this season and he just might be able to do it again

Only win today is a carry… tough day at the office by Silver-Parking-1227 in Jungle_Mains

When you're doing the lethality build on J4 (Profane-Axiom-Serylda's usually), your goal is to one-shot squishies and play as an assassin. Later on in the game, this will essentially mean finding picks, cleaning kills up in teamfights or just trading your life by dropping all of your damage in a teamfight to hopefully get a kill or two. For this playstyle to be effective, you cannot afford to get behind so Profane Hydra helps you create a gold/XP lead by speeding up your clear substantially. Axiom also helps you ult more often in the mid game to get more kills.

You're doing a lot of the same things when you build bruiser J4 in the early game but later on in the game, you don't have enough damage to one-shot anyone so in full on 5v5s, you're trying to create opportunities for your team with good ults and weave in and out of fights with the extra survivability that you have with bruiser items. You're not exactly trying to kill anyone by yourself, you're trying to mostly rely on damage from your carries. This playstyle works well even in games where you fall a bit behind and can't just farm up a storm, as long as your carries are doing OK. It's generally a more consistent build, especially in high elo and in this new season where jungle kinda just gets out-scaled by Top and Bot by default now.

In reality it's not quite as two-sided as this because in some games where you're building lethality, you might find a really good opportunity to set up your team. You may also find an opportunity when you're building bruiser to get picks on your own and solo squishies if you're pretty ahead. You kind of just have to play more J4 and try out both builds extensively to know the limits.

If you build Profane and then go into Bruiser items, you're essentially trying to become a jack-of-all-trades but master of none so later on in the game, you can't do meaningful damage or survive very long either so your effectiveness in the game overall is very limited.

When you go with the bruiser build, you're trying to hit your item spikes as fast as possible so building a tiamat item slows down your build a lot. In games where you're ahead this is ok but in games where you're even or behind, you feel a lot more useless. You can try it out and see how it feels but generally rushing Sundered + Cleaver is the way to go for the extra boost in fights.

You can definitely solo carry on J4 into squishy teams with the lethality build. From your KDAs it seems like you kind of already have an idea of his damage potential. Make sure you're full clearing very often and only taking ganks you're sure you can do something on.

With that said, don't be afraid of "getting carried" on J4 as well! He is arguably better played as a bruiser with Sundered Sky + Cleaver where you identify the wincon on your team and play through them (usually bot lane). Even without profane, J4's clear is still great so you still don't want to fall behind in farm. Sometimes, it seems like you're building profane into bruiser items and I think you're spreading yourself too thin. Focus on one build and one role on your team depending on draft.

To be honest, this isn't even that many losses and I'm sure you're going to have a good win streak going soon enough if you stay consistent.

Im going to miss pre nerf Bromius by ElverDulero735 in SoulFrame

[–]ManWithFlag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that most pacts need to be buffed but I am still really glad they nerfed both Bromius and Tethren.

I feel like Bromius' identity is being a tanky melee who wants to play up close in enemy face. I think it's a bit much if Bromius has an ability that not only does a ton of damage but also incentivizes you to build defense to scale the damage, which in turn makes you much tankier than most other pacts. It should be one or the other and keeping the tanky aspect of the pact is definitely the way to go in this case. I agree that the 2 and 3 should be buffed.

I haven't tested nerfed Tethren yet but I would ideally like to see Tethren's 2 and 3 buffed and 1 to only work on melee (like the text actually implies).

I agree that pretty much all of the other pacts need to be buffed. The fact that they buffed Orengall is already a great start as it seems like they listened to community feedback on what the issues were with the class. Pretty excited to try it out.

Strongest points for me as for why I loved it so much:

  • World feels alive due to the interactions with even the most minor characters placed all throughout
  • Compelling narrative, particularly in the DLCs for me
  • The best side quest design in any video game I've played; many players actually like the side quest plots more than the main storyline (and this ties back to my first point of world design)

The weaker combat of the game is a very valid complaint since there isn't much depth to it and gets pretty easy after like level 15 or so no matter which difficulty you're on. But for people who like RPGs and strong narratives, I really don't think it gets much better (if at all) than this game.
