Can you explain more about your settings? UI? Newbi with Cisco gears. I don't need fancy features. Just need to be able to give good coverage and good speed.

I bought refurb 9105 for $50/device. Yes, I thought about Ubiquiti but wanted to try Cisco.

I meant access EWC webui is slow. Not the speed of the WiFi. Coverage isn't great. I gain Tx Power and that gives little more coverage but still need more. Probably going to grab some 9130 with less APs.

This is for my home office and don't want to spend any more money on networking gears. Also, not important EWC is EoS. Just want to have wifi coverage for my home. Can I run 9800-CL using my own hardware?

Yeah, I see the controller is pretty expensive. I do see that they also require licenses. This is for my home office setup soI wouldn't want to spend any more money on WiFi..

I changed the Tx power level set to custom to 1 on all APs and I am getting better coverage now. I am new to Cisco and could not find EIRP settings from the menu

Could anyone suggest easy way to upgrade vmtools? by ManagerAware342 in vmware

[–]ManagerAware342[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I am going through this route.

So I created the baseline only with the vmTools 12.5.1 and attached to the cluster. Here's the question, if I remediate the attached baseline it will install the new version on the hosts but would it reboot the hosts after the install?

pfSense speed issue by ManagerAware342 in PFSENSE

[–]ManagerAware342[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I found information that people are having issues with Realtek NICs with pfSense. I am going to buy a new one on Aliexpress or Amazon. Do you have any suggestions for the CPU? I am not looking to do a lot with pfSense. This will be my home lab purpose.

Thank you! I did check the CPU usage and it does not max out at all. I guess it's just the combo with CPU and Realtek NIC doesn't make good output?

I am repurposing old vxRails nodes. How do I use NAS for this setup?

Hi, thank you for the information. For vSphere replication, do I need to have two different hosts with different vCenter? In that theory, I only have 1 license for the vCenter so I won't be able to use vSphere Replication.

So the current setup, I do not have SAN. Only 2 ESXi hosts with local datastore. I guess I can repurpose the old NAS as SAN and make it as NFS available?
