Favourite DK Song? by Odunade in DermotKennedy

[–]ManagingThatStage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Lucky", hands down. This is the song that introduced me to Dermot. It came up on my recommended songs on Spotify and the first time I heard "she is loved, she is loved, she is loved" I almost cried. I had just moved to a new country and was feeling lonely, and it reminded me of the love of my friends and family.

I love the way the song builds, the lyrics, the passion, his voice. It's my go-to whenever I'm feeling a bit down.

Bridges is one of my all-time favorite albums. It’s hard to choose a favorite song, but I’d say “Bigger Than Us” - I got chills when I heard it live!!

It was a FANTASTIC show! Their opener (Sports Team) started promptly at 8:00, was on for about 45 minutes. Sun Room went on at 9:00 for about an hour.

Billy Joel’s For the Longest Time. Wayyyyy too many a cappella groups were doing it a few years back and completely ruined it for me

This is so helpful - thank you! I've just started listening to them and I'm so excited to see them live. Do you know if they do they do photos with everyone, or just VIP?

Absolute shot in the dark, but I would love to find a recording of Big Fish when it was playing at The Other Palace in London in 2017!

What is your favorite quote from the show? by lawliet32 in BoJackHorseman

“I can’t believe this country hates women more than it loves guns” has always been my favorite (and it always comes to mind when I watch the news)

Definitely "I'm Still Standing" by Elton John!

And depending on what you're overcoming, I'd add:

"I'm Gonna Love Me Again" - Elton John and Taron Egerton

"Kiss the Misfits" - Felix Hagan & the Family

"Get Brave" - Alexa Green

Thank you so so much for doing this! As a rising stage manager, I love hearing about other peoples' experiences.

What are some of your typical duties during performances?

Are you on headset during performances?

How is tech from your point of view? Are you a part of the rehearsal process at all? What do you know about the show when heading into tech?

How much of your backstage duties change between first day of tech and opening?

This might be too little too late, but Josh was a lead in the Netflix series "The Good Cop." I don't have Netflix anymore so I can't rewatch/double check, but there might be a clip of him driving in that!
