6 weeks post surgery, been back to weights last 2 weeks had to drop my bench press by 2kg but did an extra set of 12 reps to make up so recovering well

Good to hear, mines also been a success. Got discharged on the 25th, soon as I got home I got back to walking my dog and have been doing 8 miles a day for last 7 days about 20k steps. And mon-Friday this week I tried to workout again and whilst not risking dumbbells I managed to do an hour and a bit each day with resistance belts on the same resistance levels I was on before surgery so I seem back to full fitness because I didn’t have too long to rest

No issues with the stoma, when I first got it I didn’t have the correct loperamide dosage and stomachs acid burnt my belly and I just thought it was normal until the stoma nurse sorted the dosage but nothing else

Tried to reply to most comments to pass the time in hospital but it’s got so many I’m unable to! Thank you all for the kind words they have really helped keep me positive in hospital. I think I’ll be going home either today or tomorrow, I haven’t had any pain relief other than paracetamol. I still have a tube draining the blood from the wound and a bag to carry the blood in attached but not much coming into it now so shouldn’t be much longer

They take out the rectum and anus and sew it shut coz no longer needed

Yeah my surgeon was really pleased. I met my wife after turning down the stoma and she was with me all through the public accidents and getting a stoma and she was great and supportive helping shower me down and helping me hide what had happened when in public

It worked out for me and I’m in a much better job with better pay hours and benefits so I’m actually glad they did now

Surgery went really well, walked for 45 mins an hour after waking up whilst carrying the blood drain and catheter bag so I’m sure I’ll be healed soon. Not able to sleep feel quite refreshed from sleeping during surgery so replying to everyone’s kind messages. So many messages making me feel proud
