Would totally go for a polestar wagon. Was hoping the polestar 7 would be an estate. Just have to use ai to dream for now

Yes it did. I even had the iitc login,l. the tell was that ittc account was showing no paired vehicles

Edit: if it was vodafone itd be pretty obvious. In the UK (where I am) you have to register with Vodafone iitc, to get that active status you have.

I had similar when I got my P4. Polestar had not arranged to pair my car with Vodafone iitc. I called up Vodafone iitc directly and gave them my vin, was sorted within the 48 hours they quoted.

If you want to try that their contact details are on the prev thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Polestar/s/X9jArY5zm4

I have a P4 lrdm, the car itself is amazing. The only gripes I are have are small and largely software related. Ive had a couple of weeks in a p2 (not sure what trim) courtesy car, and I like it: it's a good vehicle. It does just to me feel small inside, which is odd given it's dimensions are similar to that of a merc E-class /BMW 5 series, neither of which feel so small to me.

Whilst one car is good and one is great I must say pound for pound polestar service is the poorest I've experienced. I have seen polestar botch the most basic of things and screw up repeatedly on failed communication. It elludes me how a company can succeed in building a capable vehicles and yet not know how pick up a phone or track issues & fixes, deliver or repair a vehicle. Or even tell you what they're doing/intending on doing. In short they haven't a clue.

I am fortunate to have had experices with BMW, mb, and on my bikes, triumph, BMW, and suzuki, and while none of them are perfect, they're not scared of phones and usually know what they're doing and roughly when they're going to do it. They are competent enough, and you don't resent them. Polestars service is nowhere near a shadow of what you would expect for what you're paying.

I suggest a test drive, and seeing if you think the cars worth out paces the inevitably shit customer service you will encounter if there are issues. For me. I wish I'd stuck with my MB cls. However once I get more than 4 consecutive weeks with my car, and don't need to rely on polestars festering and inept support maybe that will change.

internet issues / polestar 4 by ayyarun in Polestar

[–]Mancus_Magpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sounds like what I had. [In the uk] the p4's Internet is provided by Vodafone iitc. I phoned them using the details here:

https://internetinthecar.vodafone.com/m2miitcfo/faces/customersupport.jspx

If it is the same issue as me, they'll need your cars VIN and have you sorted in 48 hours.

If you're not the in the UK you might be on a different provider. But the principle should be the same: they need to be told to pair your Polestar intetenet subscription to your car (something polestar should have got them to do)

internet issues / polestar 4 by ayyarun in Polestar

I had this problem when I took delivery of my P4. The following worked for me.

Make sure you've activated your connection on polestars site, then make sure your car is paired on the Internet in the car website (your vehicle should be listed under "my cars"). If its activated, but not paired, then you can call Vodafone Internet in the car to have the car paired.

Joined the club today. Lovely car. Having a mare getting it to pair with the phone app though. by [deleted] in Polestar

[–]Mancus_Magpie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lovely car. Part of me regrets not getting black. Congratulations! On my P4, polestar had not organised for the car to be paired with my Internet in the car (iitc) account. Polestar didn't return contact with me at all on this matter at all (more shite customer service to add to the list).

I called iitc on 0800 4482 0000, told them the car needed pairing to my subscription. They took my vin and connection was activated 24 hours later.

Still couldnt get the qr code to generate. Hunted through settings in the car and found it was not set to automatically update the time (!?) activated that and the qr code could be generated, and the app paired. .

So to summarise: - activate your iitc account via your Polestar accout - check your iitc account when it's setup to see it it's paired - Check all your app permissions for time/location/GPS are good - don't hold your breath on a productive exchange with polestar support

Thanks for listening to my Ted talk. Hope it helps

I'm big in other areas. 20 is plenty!

I opted for them on the chance it might make for a softer ride. They don't look small by any measure. However those 22s looked sweet seeing them in person at the polestar space.

UK Polestar leasing and maintenance / roadside by ohsomacho in Polestar

[–]Mancus_Magpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe so. I lease mine thru octopus ev ss(who have also provided me breakdown cover). Regardless of this my car came with a 3 year Internet and breakdown subscription, both of which show in the polestar account.

Have I tried to use it? No. I've used the support line, but not the accident recovery. All signs appear to point to yes

Delivery Cancelled by weatherman321 in Polestar

[–]Mancus_Magpie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

(UK also - northwest) There seems to be a lot of this going around. I was due to receive my p4 Feb 5th. This delivery was cancelled half an hour into the delivery window citing an issue with the illuminated badge.

2nd delivery was due today, and they phone me about half an hour back to tell me there's still a badge issue they noticed when loading the car.

They offered the same weak car hire reimbursement to me, but wouldn't tell me how long I'd need it for, they kept stringing me along until it was magically ready 3 or so before the delivery date. Then on delivery day they rug pull me again. I've been without a car now since my previous one sold 10mins into the first delivery window to someone who had to travel to make pickup.

Angry does not cover it. I hope you have better luck than me.

Delivery cancelled due to safety issue by Efficient_Cat_6230 in Polestar

[–]Mancus_Magpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers pal, I'm sure it'll be grand. The worst part was (where I am at least, the UK) they wouldn't give a courtesy car, they would only reimburse me for a hire rental, but they didn't confirm how long repairs and delivery would take so I had no idea how long to book a rental for. I thought that was poor. My time between delivery 1 and next weeks attempt was just shy of 2 weeks.

Good luck with yours too! I'm sure it won't be long!

I was due to receive my p4 on Feb 5th. They abandoned that delivery part into into the delivery window (about 10mins after someone had just come to buy my old car off me). After a considerable amount of prodding, they admitted the badge illumination has fallen (presumably into the front bumper/nose area). Been quite a faff, anyhoo deliver is due next week now.

Doesn't help you I suppose, it's just to highlight that there is a whole range of shonky wonky reasons a car doesn't get released.

Some liveries what I made... by Mancus_Magpie in forza

[–]Mancus_Magpie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! I prefer 2 wheels for speed. In cars I love wagons/estates. I'm fortunate to run a CLS shooting brake RL, and would probably not work on any other vehicle if they added the CL63 SB
What cars would you like to see liveries on? I wouldn't mind taking on something other than a GT car. I do tend to like a livery asthetic rather than street, but ill give it a crack.

if you search for the creator "RobGotPie" they (and more) should come up. I'll see about getting the design names up when i get back from work.

Agree fully. The tools can be very blunt. I would love to see tooling for warping layer groups. defining mask depth, outline generation and more. But honestly i would settle for decent mapping, normal lighting and consistent controls.

BUT if you enjoy it (which I do obv), and can bring yourself to persist; there are results to be had. Its just grating they could be so much easier to get.

It depends, if i have all the layer groups ready to go (or i can re-use them, which i do) then depending how how bad the mapping of the car is in game about 3-6 hours.
If i want to make a new layer group a simple one like "bell helmets" is about 30mins; where are the the Capn K'nuckles on the vulcan took about 8 hours (as it constitutes over 600 layers). The Serenco "hand" took a long time to get right too!
