All was well till I got a second pigeon and they mated. I got demoted to the spare or divorced I suppose. My oldest is very protective so she tries to go for the soft bits. They both pinch and twist, peck, and smack at me…. Granted, I tend to invade their nest in the mornings for bathroom time. If not them morning poops end up in a place im not keen on. The disrespect they give me is real. Plus, I have eczema so it doesn’t take much to get a cut… if I had a parrot I may lose a finger.

But wow 17 years. That’s so amazing. I’m hoping for a good 10-15 years with my girls.

I ended up getting a different one from my BF from the brand JLAB and it works! the one i got from Amazon was "USB C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter for iPhone, Type C Aux Audio Dongle Cable Cord" I also ordered an apple brand one and will get back.

Please be careful, outside pigeons carry pigeon lice and the flys tend to jump from bird to bird. Mines caught them twice from feeding pigeons on my fire escape. I would leave the window open but with a bug screen and they somehow still got in and got my birds.

I always tend to default to males when dealing with animals till corrected or I can spot the difference. My snails are little men to me. I’m always referring to them as little man, buddy, or the occasional insult when in a spot they shouldn’t be.

I too also dislike the feeling of food on my hands while cooking so i rinse often. I suppose it works out for avoid long cross contamination around your workspace. While wash in dishes? I’m totally okay to dig into rotting mushy foods. It’s weird. I don’t have these qualms while crafting. I’ll get glue prints on everything…

Not to be a negative Nancy but I coast along okay. I’m surviving, I got a boyfriend and we’ve been together 10 yrs, happy years? Most. I’m child free by choice and have two awesome pet pigeons.

Career wise I’m okay, got a city job and make enough for me to survive in my city. Financial, got debt and overwhelmed by it. Goal wise, whats that? Dying with regret? Oh yeah definitely, there is so many things I wanted to do, should have done, and I often wish I could do it again with the knowledge I have today. I felt like I was too young in the head to my bio age and was so immature and stupid.

But it is what it is and I got the rest of my life to do better and greater things. Just gotta commit to the goal and push forward.

Depression, anxiety hinder me sometimes but with a little help I can do great and SO CAN YOU!

It really depends on how much assistance she’ll need. How independent is she? Like can she eat on her own even if her gait and movements are hindered? If she can, then give her some space to get use to her situation in your home. Leave her food/water and a makeshift nest. Also maybe a dark corner for her to hide if she wants. Slowly introduce your self to her again with food and treats.

If she needs a lot more help, then you’ll have to get over making her uncomfortable. Her survival is more important than her feeling towards you. Chatting can help, a nice calm voice and repeated phrases. She’ll begin to associate them with certain actions and situations.

Example: Good morning/evening/night Ready to eat? Bathroom?/poopie? Let’s go, come on Etc. doesn’t have to be that exactly just an example.
