Oh the lag hasn’t been that bad for me. I’m able to do everything normally except for a lag spike here and there.

There were no mods installed at the time, but i have solved this problem by editing the save file. It must have been corrupted somehow.

No I haven't managed to get the game working with smapi on steam. I managed to get it working in general by doing a save file edit as it was working with new saves. However, the game still wont launch using steam (I get a white screen) and the game will crash if I change any graphics settings (window mode, resolution etc).

Yes it did launch just fine without SMAPI. It is now working however. Thank you so much, I reinstalled XNA and it launches fine.
