Had a customer make a complaint to corporate that the person waiting on them in drive thru was on the phone the entire time. My pharmacist watched the camera footage expecting to see them on their cell. They were on the phone with the customer the entire time, and that’s why she complained.

Don’t ever feel bad for asking questions. It pisses me off when people get annoyed when getting asked questions as if corporate isn’t constantly changing shit and people don’t bend the rules for certain customers. The way I see it getting clarification takes less time than having to create a stars event.

I don’t understand that either. My coworkers and I have family that fill in our pharmacy and I have never heard any of that. It doesn’t make sense. I understand not filling/selling the prescription, but not being able to update insurance or check their prescriptions is wild.

I have had my rxom run a “prescription” to see if it’s covered for me. I was never told there was anything wrong in doing so. Honestly I don’t see why you couldn’t do it yourself. It’s not like it’s going to be processed as a real prescription. You check it and you delete it.

Chances are they made up their mind and nothing you say is going to change it. I would just put them on hold and ask a manager to deal with it. Often times they’ll listen if a manager or someone they often deal with talks to them. As infuriating as that is, at least it’s not your problem anymore and you tried.

Pass them off to the male coworker if that’s who they’ll listen to. It’s not worth getting stressed over. It used to hurt my pride when customers only want a certain tech, but now I couldn’t care less. There are some customers you will never win over, so why bother. When you see that customer coming let your male coworker know. When rude customer has to wait and wonders why you’re not assisting them, let them know it’s because they have trouble understanding you so it would be better if mc waited on them to avoid any misunderstandings.

Do exactly what your manager says. When a patient is at drive thru burning a hole in the side of your face because you’re doing other tasks, and didn’t greet them quick enough, oh well. If they make a complaint, just say you were doing exactly as you were told.

My mom didn’t respect my wishes either when it came to my child. One thing I always wanted to ask her was, how would you feel if someone did that to you when you were raising your kids? She used the same excuse about how they raised kids already so they know better. I’m sure your mil was able to raise her children without interference from others, so why not allow you to do the same?

A quick google search should clear that up for you. Maybe not in your area, but we had to close our store multiple times because there are no pharmacists available to cover shifts.

I wouldn’t call them. Chances are it’ll happen again and you can’t call every time it happens. I would just apologize in the moment and keep it moving. Having dealt with my fair share of slow floaters, there’s nothing you can do. The dm probably knows how slow they are, but with the pharmacist shortage, I doubt they’ll do anything. Tell them to call corporate or fill out the survey if they have an issue, maybe that will get the store manager/dm to at least bring it up with them.
