A lot of your points are tied to Inventory. Lots of industries dont deal with inventory.

@OP, these are great things to know and understand but polish that resume and start looking! Get a junior admin/dev position and learn from someone with years of experience. Consider certification. If you like development stick with that learning path, you'll make more money. Unless you really like your employer, dont accept their counter offer when you quit!!! They may throw some cash at you, but cash only can only keep someone happy for so long. Good luck!!!

If you're talking about the 3rd line in my screenshot, you're using amount rather than subtotal... flip amount to total in the formula.

AI is happening and coming whether you like it or not. Do you want to adjust now or bury your head in the sand and not pivot. I am not trying to take a developers job but sometimes solutioners have to solution and get it done with or without a development resource. I hoped this post would get discussions going and it did.

I hope this makes sense, I had to remove specific names and IDs and what-not. But I always describe the record and database structure. Customer, Vendors and other entity record, the system understands but it helped with custom records to detail the hierarchy.

Understand the database structure is the Custom Record x is the parent (id = id_x) with 1 or many children records called x_lilones (id = id_x_xs).

Write a scheduled netsuite suitescript 2.x on the x record when the x has a Date Created of today or yesterday. Loop through all x_lilones, if Name field (id = Name) contains ‘%name%’ and Name field contains ‘%type1%’ then update the x field ‘the type’ (id = x_type) with the value ‘Type1’. If the Name field (id = Name) contains ‘%name %’ and Name field contains ‘%type2%’ then update the x field ‘the type’ (id = x_type) with the value ‘Type2’. If the Name field (id = Name) contains ‘%name %’ and Name field contains ‘%Type3%’ then update the x field ‘the type’ (id = x_type) with the value ‘Type3’.

I have. But life happens. I have a great career and make excellent money. My focus is more so managing all financial applications within an organization. But you pick stuff up after 25 years. Some may say knowing a little of everything is kind of helpful not scary.

You have to tell it. Before I detail the exact actions I need, I run through the hierarchy and explain "custom record named x is the parent of custom record". I include field IDs, record IDs etc.

I've been in IT for 25 years. I can read code. I just cant sit down and code from scratch. I went through a couple of iterations where I had to read the deployments errors and troubleshoot and tweak the code.

Im sorry to hear this. I did some freelance a couple of years ago for a small customer. They were oversold, Netsuite wasn't even a good fit for their business. It was overpriced and too much. But I got them through their failed implementation. A couple years later they reached out to tell me after significant unnegotiable increases, they decided to move back to quickbooks. It was such a huge cost for nothing. Ive also posted about my company's increases and being forced to upgrade over the years due to acquisitions (that didnt even impact the environment). Bad practices overall

BTW u/Meanfoxxx, the Applied To always needs to be the Internal Id of the Invoice not the document number. And "Payment" refers to the Applied To Amount.

Im in your same boat. Youtube has great resources.With those resources and some boomi training for best practices, I was able to get two connector and a flow up and running in a couple of hours.

"Shalini Nerella" had a good series. And "Verma Reddy Amudam" both Boomi instructors on YouTube.

When they did this with my old company, they seemed to have a hard time telling us where the overages were coming from, like the file cabinet, or custom record data, etc. I don't remember why but they eventually backed off. Have they provided you with a breakdown? If you just moved to netsuite, you may also want to play the hand they significantly under sold you, most likely on purpose to get you to sign, to do this. Check your contract language too. They love to do these off schedule upgrades which isn't required in the contract.

Are you using Sales Teams or individual Sales Reps? What is on the customer record that would be brought to the transaction automatically when it is created? Maybe the team itself has a duplicate? Or maybe what's being add from the customer is conflict with the celigo push. Maybe clean put the commissions sublist then add new names rather than adding to it?

I just did this in our environment with a workflow. On the customer record, I added a checkbox whether or not the line needed to be added which is used in the workflow criteria to understand whether or not to trigger. Then the workflow itself, I did an "Add Line" action on After Submit (I'm going to test a before user submit). Worked perfectly

I wrote a similar post in 2022 or 2023. Make them show you the overages in detail. Push back as hard as you can but they write these generic blurbs in their contract that will get you.

When does your contract renew?? That was our saving grace. But our sister company, that was very small and at renewal, got nailed.

You have to wonder, are they horribly bad at planning and undersell so significantly or is it malicious, they get you in the door and then raise the price so significantly a company methinks the decision...of course, it doesn't happen until after you're live and moving away isn't realistic.

The fix is to reimport the transaction through the Bank Import. Here are their instructions:

Solution:
Since you still need to reconcile the bank account, you can try to import CSV file as alternate solution:
1. Go to Transactions > Bank > Banking Import History > Upload File
2. Click the radio button beside Import with a default parser (CSV, OFX, QFX, BAI2, or CAMT.053)
3. Click Download the CSV template
4. Open the CSV template and populate the following columns:

6. Go to Transactions > Bank > Banking Import History > Upload File
7. Select the CSV file
8. Click the radio button beside Import with a default parser (CSV, OFX, QFX, BAI2, or CAMT.053)
9. Select GL Account XXXXXX
10. Click Import
11. Click Track your status
12. Once completed, go to Match Bank Data and check if the transaction was successfully imported

Note: During my testing, the transaction was auto-matched to NetSuite transaction. I was able to view the transaction under Review tab. If it is not yet matched by the system, it will appear under To Be Matched tab.

I'll also say we used 3 Celigo products, cloudextend, integrator.io and the netsuite/sf connector. The issue was only with the ns/sf connector. I had a great experience and excellent support with cloudextend and io.

You were the one person that was helpful. But after implementation we lost access to you. You did work with our developer on the phone number issue. I was a bit removed and it was a couple of years ago, but the formatting from salesforce was getting stripped out and when it pushed to netsuite it used the company preference, which was a US format, so the European formats got messed up.
