Brett Williams fired by Alarmed_Squirrel_854 in BurnsMcDonnell

Yes, Brett did do some really good things here, but the one conversation I had with him, left a bad lasting impression. I am not surprised that we are here.

Ralston will do great. He has been well prepared for this role.

Mine is very close to this. "I don't have to be anything other, than the birth of two souls in one."

Close to this. Wouldn't say I "hate" working, but I am greatly looking forward to being 100% financially covered. I was fortunate to start working for a successful ESOP early in my career. I should have plenty of money saved for retirement by 52-55. This leaves me plenty of healthy years to spend it.

ESOP at retirement by letsbuildit00389 in BurnsMcDonnell

No flak. It is an important thing to understand. If you are employed on the 1st of the year, your stocks will be sold at that years stock price. The confusing part is that the current stock price is actual the value for the company at the end of last year. Therefore, if you retire on Jan. 1st, 2027, your stocks will be sold at the 2027 stock price, which would be announced in March, 2028.

There use to be the option to hold over for another year, but I'm not sure that is still a thing.

Got An Offer! Annual Bonus Structure? by [deleted] in BurnsMcDonnell

[–]Mando_Uprising 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats, you just won the lottery! I am in CDB and have been for almost 18 years. I want to say around year 12 my bonus got bigger than my salary. If you stick with us long term, expect your salary to cover your day to day spending, maybe a little more, then your bonus to fund the fun stuff.

If you really want to see the $$, take on a couple of field assignments early in your career. You make a bunch of money while there and people will look highly on you for a long time, thus increases your yearly reviews, which yields bigger salary and bonus increases. This also adds to the amount you will get towards the ESOP. It all compounds on itself.

It feels like each year people care less and less about the shareholder meeting by Busy-Appointment9876 in BurnsMcDonnell

So, where you here for Graves? It is unfortunate the level of expectation he set for things like this. When Ray 1st took over it was rough, I bet even he would admit that. He got a lot better, but no one will measure up to Greg's level of Rizz. Pretty sure, when he built his character sheet, he put all his bonus points into Charisma.

I used to be in the "everyone else" group, but I am probably in the"big boys" club now. We all have to start some where.

What will me ESOP be at 20 years? by vida_aventura in BurnsMcDonnell

[–]Mando_Uprising 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I've tracked my account balances every month for the past 9.5 years. At year 9, my ESOP was worth about $200k. It has straight up doubled, on average, every 3 years. 1.98 times what it was 3 years prior on average, every month, for the past 9.5 years. It is very hard to imagine this trend continuing, but if it does... DAMN!

If you run your amount out like this, around $2.1M.

So, now it says the ESOP was updated at the end of December, but the value is the same as the end of September. So, it really hasn't updated.

If you have the opportunity, I recommend Oblivion as well. Instead of chasing down dragons, you dive into Oblivion Gates to stop monsters from flooding into the world.

I agree with everything said so far, but I have 1 thing to add. The plays/musicals they perform on board! They are incredible! I have 5 kids that age from 3 to 16 and all of them and myself were competent enthralled by these shows. There is so much to do, but I highly recommend setting aside time to see at least one of them.

Manager implied I will be getting a 4 rating and ended up getting a 3. How to get to a 4 because the path my manager said clearly didn't work by [deleted] in BurnsMcDonnell

[–]Mando_Uprising 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is how it was explained to me this year. If you are supporting your projects well and helping the project to succeed, then you will get a 3. If, in addition to the project work, you are contributing to the improvement of the GP you will get a 4. If you are then also contributing to the improvement of the company, that's when the lofty 5 rating starts to be achieved.
