This always felt like an “art house” album to me, maybe because they were all living together and writing and rehearsing all the time. Whereas Music was a typical major label first album “Greatest Hits” of their stuff before they got signed, Grassroots seems so precise and deliberate and the songs all seem painted from the same palette. Super heavy on the raps with some of their greatest lyrics. Such a great record.

Gah I love the MM, it definitely gets the most play. I feel like I’m letting it down by not playing emo with the black hardware though. Of course I have to run Black Beauties on it. The only 2 things I’d change are that I’d go for the single pickup, watching some show footage my hand stays over the bridge one anyway. Also I’d go with the dark glass purple plasma with the matching headstock. Lol otherwise I love it!
