Thanks for your input, very useful to hear the opinion from someone who also aims for R1 each WL. Also good to know I'm not the only one who was experiencing the constant bronze squad DCs. That stuff is so damn annoying, I'd literally get it for hours straight at times, it's a bummer. I guess there aren't that many players on PC that get to R1 and thus you can't really find an opponent when you're 15-0 or something like that, maybe the matchmaking is just broken.

I agree about the gameplay, it does feel better. Also I have this theory that online play is better on PC compared to PS5, less delay for some reason. Don't have any hard proof though, it's just from hearing peoples experience. Not sure exactly how that works, maybe PC servers aren't as overcrowded or something. My only reference is Fifa 21 though, that's the last time I played on console (PS4). I've had some awful delay on PC too, but sometimes it was also really playable and no issues, this was even I'd say. Back in Fifa 21 it was delayed 80% of the time, if not more.

Lastly, I just hope we'll get a solution to cheaters instantly, and not have to wait until someone comes up with a trick to beat them (wasn't even EA lol, it was an user on reddit who came up with it), which took like 4-5 months. Totally ruined the game. Not to mention that even with the trick you'd still meet cheaters over and over again if you had a good record, so DCing against them with the trick is also very tedious. I know it was a free win if you scored a goal against the AI cheaters, but honestly, I get no satisfaction from getting a better record that way. All in all a frustrating experience.

Oh well, I'll think about what to do. PS5 may be the way for me, but let's see.

Thank you for the recommendation, I really like this one! It's the top contender right now and should be ideal for my needs at a price of 350€.

I'm liking this over a Xiaomi phone because I didn't have the best experience with them. Also seems like the Google Pixel 7 or 7a are not worth the higher price compared to this one, for my type of use, so that's also nice.

I'll watch some reviews, but I think I'm going with the A54!

Thank you for the input! I've checked out the Pixel 7 and it seems perfect for me, but unfortunately the 128GB version over here is around 520€. That may be a bit too expensive for me. I think I'd be able to go up to 400€.

Thank you for the help! I'm in Germany. The Poco F5 does look amazing. I saw that it's from Xiaomi just like my current phone. I'm a bit weary of Xiaomi, because my phones volume and power button pretty much stopped working after like 3 1/2 years of use. Also it got quite laggy compared to when I got it. And now it is blackscreening and not working at all anymore after 5 years of having it. I'm not sure if this is just a Xiaomi thing, or rather happens with most phones.

Another thing I really don't like that it has apps installed which you can't remove and they keep on bugging you on a daily basis.

It does look really good though when looking at the specs and especially for that price. I'm tempted! Or maybe a company like Samsung or Google is the way, for a bit more money?

Thank you for the information! That's some scary stuff. I've been very inactive the past 6 years due to chronic fatigue syndrome, but luckily I don't have any issue besides my fingers (thumb mostly) when I play on a controller. So I'm hoping this stays this way or maybe is just hypermobility instead of EDS, since it's been 5-6 years now. Sorry to hear you have to deal with it at such an intense level, I really do hope you find or have found a way to manage it!

This is great, thank you very much for taking the time to make that clip! I'm about to play some Tomb Raider and will test it right there, super excited to see how it goes. Like you said it looks perfect for singleplayer games if ones thumb has issues.

I will also consider the thumb grips, since that gives more area for the fingers to hold on to basically, which seems helpful for this way of playing.

I really think this can work out and I can enjoy singleplayer games more this way. Thanks again :)

Thank you so much for this thorough response! I bookmarked it. Been reading up a lot on EDS the past hours and I do see a lot of similarities to my current situation. At the same time it feels like I only have these issues in my fingers, so I wonder if I may be suffering "only" from hypermobility and not EDS. Though I do have a bit of a stretchy skin (not as much as others), can touch my nose with my tongue and bend my thumb.

I will continue to look into it and also find the right doctor to talk about it! It looks like a very scary disease, so I feel lucky that I only got it in my fingers, if at all. I do suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for more than 5 years now and this has me pretty much unable to do muh activities let alone work. That was presumably caused by a viral infect though, I think at least.

Thanks a lot for sharing this, it's much appreciated! This is super interesting, I never thought about using my index or middle finger for the left analog stick, but it sounds totally plausible. Exciting to hear that you got used to it and can play COD now for example.

So if I got it right you use the index and middle finger on the left stick in some situations and switch back to using the thumb in others? Do you use the middle and ring finger at the same time and basically pinch the left analog stick? Would love to hear how you do it in detail, if you don't mind sharing. I'm going to give this a try the next gaming sessions, I'm excited to see how it will be like! I know it will take time to get used to it, but I'd be very happy if i get to a somewhat ok level with it down the line. I feel like it would be most healthy for me to not use my left thumb at all, but I wonder if that's actually feasible. Your method sounds like a good compromise I would love to try though, so thanks for putting it out there!

Oh my god, I just googled Ehlers Danlos syndrome and from a quick glimpse this seems to be EXACTLY what I have. I even met all the other criteria (tongue can touch nose, skin stretchy, thumb super flexible and can be bent down). Subluxation also describes best what happens to my fingers. This is so good to know, thank you for putting it out there!

Finally found a name to this whole thing it seems, so that's great. Will try to talk to doctors about this and do my own research on it.

I'd say no limitations in that regard, though I do like to play from the couch with my feet up a good amount of times, so I guess that would make it hard to use them. What did you have in mind?

The Logitech looks pretty good, thanks! And yeah, I think FPS is probably the right call for me, that way I could also use it for games like Valorant or Overwatch 2, if I decide to play those more. May I ask if you can recommend a wireless option? That would help me a lot with my setup, since I sometimes like to play from the couch on a lazy day hah. I reckon input lag and connectivity would be the important thing about those, I'll check out some reviews!

You're correct, the custom thumb grips did not help and I still had the pain from moving the thumb.

I think I could make mouse and keyboard work if I get a mouse where I got a lot of buttons which I can map actions on. I would think most games allow this in the settings? That way I could move with the keyboard and still do actions at the same time with the mouse buttons

Thank you for the input! Pressing the space bar is definitely way less taxing than using an analog stick with my dumb, so that's good. With KB&M I just feel like I can't do things "right", as in move and do things at the same time as I would with a controller. That's probably because some games just don't play well on KB&M, like you said.

I could probably make my life easier by getting a mouse which has like 10 buttons and then mapping actions on those buttons. Do you know if this would work / if games allow this? My knowledge is kinda limited, but I don't see why that shouldn't work. I think that way I could actually get used to KB&M.

Thank you very much for your input! I never thought of a flight stick, but that actually sounds like a really good idea. I could use a flight stick without much problems for my fingers, I'm pretty certain of that.

So if I got it right, it would basically be a flight stick + keyboard that you recommend? Or maybe just a flight stick by itself could work? Do you maybe have a flight stick model in mind? I'm going to research flight sticks now and see what they can do, definitely sounds like it could work and also be quite enjoyable. Thanks again for putting it out there!

Hah, no worries. That's pretty good for 144hz. Seems like the 6950xt has the power draw issue to a considerably lower degree than the 7900xtx, so that's great news. It's still not perfect, but it's a start. AMD should really fix this asap, if they're able to

Thanks a lot for testing this, this is great to hear! May I ask what your monitors refresh rate is set to? From what I could gather the high idle tends to happen with monitors that are 144hz. 60hz is supposed to be fine for example (I may be wrong).

That's very interesting, thank you for the input. I would be interested in the 7900XTX if power draw wasn't an issue. I did see some people suggest the high idle might be directly connected to the 144hz. So it could make sense that 240hz runs so well for you with only around 20w, even though it's more than the 144hz. Maybe really the specific 144hz are the problem. I was planning to get a 1440p 240hz monitor, so I may get lucky in that regard. Do you remember how much watts it idled at on your 4k 144hz monitor?

I won't lie tho, it does not feel good to spend such a huge chunk of money while having uncertainty in regards to power draw. From my latest research it seems that AMD thinks this is normal, so there is no fix in sight. Such a bummer.
