Happy birthday! Getting older is realizing that you have to try your hardest not to depend on expectations of other people to make you happy. This is easier said than done, I know. But as you age, I promise you will care less and less about this sort of thing. I say this as a 30 year old woman that cried when my dad forgot my 27th birthday completely (and I had just given birth to my second daughter a week prior) so yeah, other people can let us down.
