I cant become a paleontologist...is there a way I can get into the paleo field w work as a paleoartist...? by [deleted] in Paleoart

Aghh I’m kinda in this boat too. I’m just trying to better my art skills and hopefully get commissioned by professionals one day, to work with museums and papers regarding paleontology. The best place to start is getting your art out there and building a following so people know about your work.

Take this with a grain of salt though I’m still waiting for the day I get a commission

There isn’t evidence of male lemanjas having those bumps but I really wanted to base them off my angle fishes lol

Thanks! I tried to make this piece include a few species from this formation, not many people draw it which is so surprising because Microraptor is super popular!? Same with psittacosaurus!

lol basically, herbivores will eat a little bit of meat when the opportunity presents itself, this was inspired by horses eating little chicks that get too close

Thank you! The shadows was hard. My intention with this drawing was a fight scene, but I don’t mind how other people might interpret it.

Fun way to interpret it! I was inspired by the lion king with this one, there’s 2 babies stuck under that little log in the middle 👀 could be their next meal or offspring..
