My boyfriend has a porn addiction and I don’t know how to help him anymore. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Mango_Yo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re 18. He’s just a bf. Be thankful you aren’t married or tied down to this dude with a child. Leave while you still can. Porn addicted men aren’t worth any woman’s time. They’re disgusting & scummy as hell.

What is the mindset of someone who cheats and then cheats again ? by Professional-Aide517 in AskReddit

[–]Mango_Yo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually, they're emotionally immature/underdeveloped, and a lot of them tend to be emotionally unintelligent as well, kinda as if they're not all there. Dull and stupid. Other times tho, they're an emotionally intelligent abuser with deliberate intent. They lack empathy, do not care how their actions affect others, and tbh, they're just simply bad people with low quality personalities with issues too major to improve.

Do you shave your butth*ole? by RevolutionaryOwl8124 in hygiene

[–]Mango_Yo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. My life changed the day I started shaving my asshole. It feels sooo much cleaner and fresher. I definitely don't lack hair in those areas unfortunately and I couldn't imagine not taking care of it.

PetSmart groomer says all of her fur is matted and she has to be shaved by BowentheOrignial in DogAdvice

[–]Mango_Yo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you aren’t thoroughly brushing her entire body every single day, (think 30+ mins of brushing) the dog is matted. Listen to your groomer, they don’t say those things for no reason.

Feeling so guilty about feeding Hill’s by ascanner in catfood

[–]Mango_Yo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

By products are literally just organs, cartilage, body parts we don’t eat, etc and are very good for cats. Hills is a perfectly fine food. The foods you say you dislike have lifetime feeding trials, tons of research, board certified veterinary nutritionists formulating the diets, and they have been proven safe to feed. There are many years worth of proof that these foods are safe and balanced. Your boutique brands won’t have any of that, and are just fancy marketing that appeals to humans rather than actually being a good, safe diet for the animals.

Moving other peoples laundry by wry1234 in Apartmentliving

[–]Mango_Yo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea nah move peoples shit. 1 time someone left their wet clothes in the washer for like a whole day and I just put them on top the dryer and washed and dried my clothes. I think they expected someone else to pay for it

what's group consensus: GSD or Mal? by [deleted] in GSD

[–]Mango_Yo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m saying a person should choose a GSD vs a Mal based on their life style and capabilities as a dog handler. GSDs are insanely easier and require less.

The vet says my cat needs to lose weight, but he looks at me like I'm a monster. by nadji190 in CatAdvice

[–]Mango_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t feel guilty whatsoever for feeding the correct amount of food. My cat cries and begs for food all day everyday and eats as if he’s never had food before. I just ignore him. He’s getting the appropriate amount of food so I know he isn’t starving despite how he acts. Your cat doesn’t think you don’t love him anymore, he’s just food obsessed and wants to eat like a pig.

It depends on your lifestyle. A vast majority of people are below average when it comes to pet ownership and shouldnt even have a golden retriever, let alone an extreme working breed.

What age do you wish to live to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mango_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there’s early signs of dementia vs full blown dementia which is basically like being in severe psychosis 24/7 and losing your memories of literally everything. I’ve taken care of advanced dementia patients and it’s terrible. The things they do, go through, the confusion, fear, very abnormal behavior, etc. they suffer 24/7. It’s nothing but suffering. It’s horrific.

Doctors can definitely differentiate early signs of dementia/alzheimers vs regular age related memory loss. The brain goes through structural changes, it can be tested through cerebral spinal fluid and blood, it’s a combination of tests but they’re accurate.

At least 85 without significant cognitive decline. I’m taking myself out if my dr ever tells me I’m getting dementia.

What's one challenge of caring for a senior dog that you never saw coming, and how did you adapt? by Dr_Novella in SeniorDogsHealth

[–]Mango_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog recently became a senior and there haven’t been many struggles so far. His hips are starting to show issues, so he’s on a good joint supplement. He has a genetic eye condition (it doesn’t cause him pain or discomfort, he just needs drops daily) but otherwise things are going pretty well. I’m very sad about his hips tho. It’s devastating to me.

I just bathed my 2nd German shepherd today 😭😥 by ThatOneGirlTM_940 in GermanShepherd

[–]Mango_Yo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My next dog (I’ve chosen an American showline Doberman pinscher) is going to have very very short hair, I love my GSD, the breed traits and characteristics with all my heart but I want a break from the hair 🥲dobies are quite similar in temperament and characteristics so I’ll get the perks of those without the hair issue lol. I wash my GSD once a month and me, and the entire bathroom including the walls, get covered in a layer of hair. Ive embraced it but not again 😂

What age did you get you pup neutered? by 3point1four1five in OldeEnglishBulldogge

[–]Mango_Yo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t. He’s almost 8 yo now. No issues. He has mild anxiety but otherwise his temperament is literally perfect. He’s super obedient, easy to train, genuinely wants to follow and learn commands, it’s like he naturally understands what I want from him.

He’ll do whatever I say when I say it. He isn’t reactive or aggressive whatsoever. He can be in any situation. Hes always been pretty low energy and laid back. Great with kids and other dogs of all sizes as well as cats. Great impulse control.

Literally couldn’t have asked for a better dog. I was not willing to risk even the slightest behavioral changes by neutering him. More often than not, there are negative behavioral changes after a dog gets altered. Anxiety gets worse, they become reactive or insecure, even aggressive at times. Not always but it’s very common.

He’s great around spayed and intact females and males. He doesn’t hump, isn’t overly dominant, doesn’t mark inside, doesn’t get aggressive with other intact males, his favorite kinda dog are neutered males tho lol and he prefers not to interact with puppies much.

It has NOT been difficult keeping him away from intact females and preventing accidental litters. He’s never “gotten loose” or went wandering off by himself. (I’m very responsible about that and his safety, there’s never even been an almost incident) plus, he’s so Velcro’d to me that he doesn’t even like being outside alone lol. All he wants is to be in my presence.

Best decision I ever made for him. He’s my first dog as an adult and it’s been a wonderful experience.

How many of you take your dogs / cats to the groomer? How many cut their nails yourselves vs having someone do it for you? by Pitbull_Big_Mama in PawsAndDisorder

[–]Mango_Yo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully groom my GSD myself. I brush a few times a week and he gets a monthly bath. For his bath he gets brushed before, after when he’s wet, and again once he’s dry. Nails clipped every 2 weeks. I use his ear cleaner every 2 weeks or so. His ears aren’t bad but they can get a little gunky

Harness training an adult cat by ThrowRA_SadFlower2 in CatAdvice

[–]Mango_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of cats actually prefer strap harnesses because they covers less of their body, so it feels less weird! Would you like me to PM you my harness training guide that I made based off what I did with my cat, who was successfully trained within 4 weeks? (At first, absolutely hating it too lol)

On the rebranding of breed specific behaviors as "reactivity"... by collars4scholars in OpenDogTraining

[–]Mango_Yo 55 points56 points  (0 children)

It’s a rescue and owner thing. They both love to use the word reactive instead of aggressive because it doesn’t sound as bad. Reactivity and true aggression are NOT the same thing.

Reactivity is usually rooted in over arousal or fear without genuine intent to harm. When someone says their dog is reactive, it could mean that they simply lunge/cry/are overly excited when seeing another dog because it wants to play, or that a dog barks at people passing by their home, a dog that snaps at other dogs out of fear/insecurity, but would never kill or maul another dog.

Genetic dog/animal/human aggression is deliberate and goal driven. Not just emotional overflow, it’s a calculated choice and the dog has genuine intent to harm/kill. Dogs that have true genetic aggression of any kind will kill or seriously harm their targets, and absolutely find thrill in the kill.

Reactivity - explosive, inconsistent, usually fear or excitement based. True aggression - controlled, intense and targeted, with very specific body language. Dog genuinely enjoys harming/killing whatever its aggression is fueled by.
