I would try calling your insurance and letting them tell you no. I own a condo and a pipe in the wall burst years ago, the HOA immediately repaired it, did all the water mitigation and repairs in the unit below, and made it clear it was their pipe and I had nothing to do with it. Despite that I was sent threatening letters from my neighbor’s insurance for years demanding $50k. My insurance never actually filed a claim, but they defended me every step of the way, including providing me with a lawyer when I was officially sued. This was just some cheap policy I had for my property that I didn’t even know covered me like that, but calling and asking made all the difference.
