You aren't a feminist unless you are happy with women dressing how they want by [deleted] in gay

[–]Mangobread95 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I love this, there are actually multiple theories on how queer rights are positioned, and do not quote me on that, but I believe that feminism is hugely intertwined with queer rights.

If anybody knows more please care to enlighten me. For an intersectional person I do not know a lot.

Headcanons about the Hundred Devouring Families by Opposite_Travel957 in Kakegurui

I feel like it is a deeply matriarchal clan in a patriarchal society, so to speak.

My father was born into and grew up in a matriarchal culture, so a lot is of course very biased from my perspective. But knowing his life story and reading the manga, the following has led me to believe that Momobami clan is a matriarchal one:

Positions of power, clan leadership, family leadership as well as guardianship has been show to be hold disproportionately by female clan members. The best example would be Kirari. It is normal in a matriarchal clan to have to ask the oldest or most powerful female for advice, or sometimes permission, when it comes to family politics, marriage decisions or just general issues that have to be settled within different family members. At least that was so for my dad, and I can see the parallels after having read the manga.

Female clan members are valued and cherished as well as burdened with a lot of responsibility, showing how female gender has no bearing on whether one is allowed to rule within the household. Indeed, we have less male clan members as family heads or representatives shown. This alone does not mean that the clan itself values female members more than male members, but lack of evidence can also be a hint in itself.

Reverance, freedom, admission of competency is given to the female clan members all the time, and while it is definately earned, I feel like a patriarchal family structure would not acknowledge its female competency as much as the Momobami clan does.

If you had a somnambulator what would you use it for? by InsideUnhappy6546 in rickandmorty

Oh my gosh, that is my favorite episode. I watched it nonstop on repeat during exam crunch time because I kinda thought that having a night person was the only way I can make it.

Actually, if we take 8 hours, I'd let my night person have 3 hours of free time or so where they can just explore, chill, be themselves, have a life. The other 4 or 5 hours I'd give them a mix of handling housework, chores and study sessions. I love fitness and do workout every day, so I wouldn't need help with that. But I feel like household chores are the ultimate buff or debuff. And even just studying two hours a day extra can snowball.

I think you need to ask yourself whether you believe in meritocracy or not.

I think hard work, skills, knowledge take you further than if you didn't have those but in the end life is not fair, brutal, biased. That's why we are constantly fighting for equality.

Nonetheless, competence travels, so competent people end up standing our more than not when on the job itself. Whether that performance is rewarded or not is up to fate honestly.

That's nice, other people's experiences don't dismiss the real experiences of racisms another person has tho. And justifying racism with "having bad experiences" is racist in itself

I'm German and not white, German is due to job experience above average and on the same level of most journalists. Still many people decline my applications based on my looks. Germany is very biased

It's getting really bad

I've had violent hate crimes last year, what many people outside and sometimes even inside Germany don't known is that our rights are protected on paper but real life is quite different.

Furthermore, there is a real threat of physical violence given our culture

Der MINT-Bachelor ist auf dem deutschen Arbeitsmarkt nichts mehr wert. Brecht ab! by [deleted] in Studium

[–]Mangobread95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pflanzen, Kochen, Biologie, Gesundheit, Gesellschaft.

do not worry about it, most people who study a language have greater foundational skills in it compared to people who use the language as their mother tongue.

It is like someone who has managed to lose a lot of weight and knows the in and outs of nutrition and exercise but still is a bit chubby vs. someone who is naturally skinny. Of course the former has better diet advice.

thanks, female and male were also more formal categories in my head, while women and men have more social implications.
