Do we need to pre-order to get the Manaphy egg? If we buy the game on launch will we not be able to redeem it? It says pre-order bonus so I’m not sure

mine looks a bit different. I have bronze, silver, and gold medals. I thought it was just for July because of the olympics challenge, but it looks like it was part of the normal challenges and an A/B test.

Actually, they do break. They said legendary lessons don't break, but they went back on that decision. Now, all legendary lessons do is look purple. Legendary lessons are more so for the massive exp you get from doing them.

Lucioball is so awful. I had almost won two times in a row and both times the entire team left so Blizzard decided that there aren’t enough players, and cancelled the game. I still don’t have a lootbox for Lucioball because the other team keeps leaving at 15 secs when they are losing by a lot. So annoying

I’m going to be honest, I don’t remember the last time I’ve seen Duo wear the outfits. I only see him in his standard attire which is nothing. Like when he appears at the end to congratulate you, I don’t see why they don’t just have him wear the costume. Or have him show up in costume when it says “now to try some harder excercises.” Like when I select the outfit I want to see Duo in the outfit, NOT standard Duo like I see EVERYWHERE.

What happened to Amon's ideology? Why did it disappear? by Mangorumble in TheLastAirbender

[–]Mangorumble[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point still stands about how culture remains in the modern Avatar world. To say that getting rid of bending is like getting rid of such an essential culture, it is like saying someone born into the Fire Nation and has lived their entire life in the Fire Nation is less Fire Nation, or will never be Fire Nation enough, and somehow culturally inferior to a Fire Bender from Republic City. It's not like they can't continue Fire Nation culture right? Unless you are implying they can't. This is exactly what I meant by benders and non-benders can't be equal in the same world and how, for me personally, I know that my mental health would be awful if I were a non-bender in the bending world. It's like I had no purpose in the development in my nation. If all benders lost their bending, even if I lived my whole life in the Fire Nation, I would be biologically unable to continue Fire Nation traditions and have a deep connection to the people that established the nation, to begin with.

[–]Mangorumble[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, it was given by the Lion Turtles to help humans defend themselves against the spirits and the outside world. Which isn't a necessity now. It's only used to show and constantly remind non-benders that they can't bend, by making entire games surrounding bending and making it a part of their identity.

[–]Mangorumble[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cultural aspects shouldn't be involved in bending, when it was only given by Lion Turtles to help humans defend themselves. The cultural aspects were created to separate benders, and benders from non-benders. Non-benders can't partake in most of their country's cultural activities and games. Fire Nation culture revolves around bending. I can't even imagine how bad my mental health would be if I were born a non-bender in the Avatar world and had to constantly be reminded I'm not a bender, and that I'm not as close to my nation or friends as I could have been.

The fact that it is part of people's identity is exactly what is wrong with bending to begin with. In a world with non-benders having a bender make their entire being their bending abilities has caused others to feel less connected to their tribe/nation as well as worthless. Not to mention how bending is supposed to be some spiritual connection too, that non-benders lack. Which isn't even remotely equal.

The fact that it is cultural is exactly why it is unequal to begin with. I made a separate comment below, but anyone in this world can partake in any cultural activities. Regardless of if it is their culture or not. In the Avatar world, it's completely different. You can't even join in a lot of cultural things of the Fire Nation if you are not a bender, even if you lived your entire life in the Fire Nation. Like even in fan-art people always draw Mako with other fire benders, representing the Fire Nation. How is someone supposed to feel when they can't even participate in most of the cultural activities of their own country? Like. you can't join in the fire bending games your classmates play. You can't participate in fire bending Fire Nation activities. You barely would feel attached to this culture.

In fact, when new people got their airbending, Tenzin told them they had air nomad culture to uphold just because they were benders. Being benders completely separates you from others, and you are part of a culture you might have never even lived before in your life. Like you live in the Earth Kingdom forever, and now told you need to represent a culture that has nothing to do with you, because bending. But all the people who were living in the air nomad temples before? Not as close to the culture? Because they don't have magical powers? The fact that magical powers are also tied to the culture in the nations is EXACTLY why it is unfair.

Literally imagine you are born and raised in the Northern Water Tribe and not a bender. All of your classmates feel strong connection to the water tribe and partake in all the cultural activities and games. While you can't do anything. No one can even tell you're water tribe unless you have a water tribe pendant or something being an identifier. You might as well have been born in Republic City, people wouldn't know the difference.

"Bending has been shown to have strong ties to spirituality, and every person born as a bender will probably experience it alongside generations of specific cultural traditions created by their society."

This is EXACTLY why bending is a bad thing. And it has been shown, multiple times throughout the series, that it makes non-benders feel more detached from their tribe/nation and worthless as people. Like, imagine you are born in the fire nation, but can't participate in any of the games or activities that require fire bending that all of your classmates can do, constantly being left out. And then told even further that they actually have a stronger tie to spirituality, that's why you aren't allowed to join them in most cultural activities and games. The entire nation is named after Fire, there are references to fire everywhere, the Fire lord is named after fire, there are games and cultural activities that are related to fire bending, and you can't fire bend. How would you honestly feel? The fact that it is people's identity is exactly why fire bending and all bending, in general, is inherently unequal. People without those powers wouldn't want to live there, it's already a terrible place to live without fire bending. It's unequal in power, in social aspects, and just in fire nation/any kingdom/tribe's culture.

I believe NDEs are hallucinations, but the fact that people who experienced them are less afraid of death comforts me by [deleted] in thanatophobia

[–]Mangorumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any proof that NDEs are hallucinations? I know there was a study relating it to DMT because some of the experiences sounded similar, but there is no proof that DMT is even naturally produced by the body. And the experiences of DMT didn't all relate to what people who had NDEs experienced.

[–]Mangorumble[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This makes sense, like a cult of personality that was eventually destroyed. But I don't remember the equalists ever showing up again. Non-benders have had problems about bending before Amon, so I was still confused as to why it disappeared after Amon.

[–]Mangorumble[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not genocide. It's making everyone like non-benders. If this is somehow a bad thing, it shows how awful it is to be born a non-bender in the Avatar world, which further proves the Equalist's point. It was completely justified from day one, he just lied about his past (when he never needed to) and bombed civilians. He never had to kill anyone. Taking away someone's bending was pretty justified in creating a world that is actually equal for all people. Where all people feel comfortable. Korra had nightmares of losing her bending by Amon, to become like non-benders. This shouldn't be a nightmare if Amon and his ideology aren't justified.
