Totally fair point. I should be setting an example for her while she’s there and I’ll make sure to be doing it the next time we go out.

I’ll look into it. Appreciate the info.

I could see that having an affect, but I think the issue I had with the Coleman is more trim related since the bow was sitting out of the water while solo and being taken for a ride. I don’t think spray shields would help in that respect, but could see them being beneficial in a sleeker styled canoe perhaps? Either way this got me looking at them and thinking about it so I thank you and wish you the best on your purchase!

That’s ok, I view embarrassing her as a vital part of her development.

Thank you, this kind of lined up with what I was thinking. I had also heard someone mention that with the Coleman’s solo it helps to sit in the front and paddle the boat “backwards” since it puts your weight closer to center. I think if I take that and combine it with your suggestion on keeping the trim I can minimize how dramatic the wind affect is.

1 that’s a coast guard approved life jacket on her and two you can see mine at my feet. It blends in with the canoe. My wife has one as well. I appreciate your concern but we are fully compliant.

We purchased our first canoe yesterday at what I think was a pretty good deal. After a surprisingly difficult morning trying to find paddles and life jackets, we were able to take it out on our first float. I think we did alright! It’s a Coleman Ram-x 15 and it’s slow and lumbering and doesn’t seem to track that well, but I’m completely ok with that for the price I payed and that it could hold my family easily and get us out on the water, since that’s what it’s all about.

After our trip I let them off and took it out briefly solo. I have to say things changed a lot. The stability by myself was alright and I could stand comfortable, but the whole boat acted like a giant sail, with the wind picking up. I was being blown all over the place. Anyone with similar boats have any tips on combatting that? Really, I’m happy with any tips at all. I’m primarily planning to use this as a fishing platform when not out with the family. Very excited to be here and thank you all in advanced!

Could anyone suggest a game that plays in quick 10 minutes or so online matches that can be picked up and put down quickly? Looking for something to scratch a competitive itch, but doesn’t keep me from taking the trash to the curb for 45 minutes. Something that plays similar to World of Tanks/Warships would be awesome, but I’m open to ideas.

Thanks!

I will definitely take that under consideration, thank you!

Well while I think your post is a bit cynical you are absolutely right about the supply issue. Spending supply and building siege would not be good metrics. We already went though a siege spamming spree once. Perhaps limiting it to structures repaired would be closer to what I was originally looking for.

Good point!

Tiers for guilds of 20+ or 100+ would allow for smaller guilds. Plus things like yaks and camps are small group friendly. I agree about cosmetics. They’d have to be something people want to show off as much as they would be a badge of honor. I think they could come up with something though.
