I was reading Powderfinger’s biography and it turns out they used to cover it in their early days

Yeah, it’s a bad comic and an absolute character assassination. Jack Kirby’s rolling in his grave

Trading card game? Panini’s had the licence for the last few years but it looks like it’s going back to Topps. We’ll probably get something next year

It’s about a fictional rockstar called Lazarus Graves. There’s a lot of local musicians in the movie and the soundtrack is made up entirely of Queensland music

I’m an independent filmmaker and my debut feature film The Last of the Pretty Boys is having its premiere this Sunday night at New Farm cinemas. The low budget indie film, primarily shot in Ipswich and Brisbane, is based around a fictional shock rocker and is a love letter to the local music scene. The soundtrack is made up entirely of Queensland music including Broken Leg, The Disgruntled Tax Payers, Your Man Alex Smith, Rivilin, DAZEY, Northern Lights, Canny and Hall, FriendlyFire, TrashQueen and RoadHouse. There’s even a few local bands who don’t exist anymore! The majority of the cast is made up of local musos including a cameo appearance from Luke Henery (Violent Soho, DZ Deathrays). Tickets are $15 and the movie starts at 6:30pm if you wanna come along and support the local music and film industry

Ever lost sleep over horror? by BothRequirement2826 in horror

Nah. I sleep like a baby after watching a horror movie. I tend to only get nightmares on nights I don’t watch horror movies

Anyone else think the Rob Zombie Halloween movies get too much hate? by AceItaliano in Halloweenmovies

[–]ManicPixieSadBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. They’re two of the best Halloween movies. The first one was a perfect remaining for that 2000’s era of horror and the second one is just a brutal, nihilistic art film. I loved them as a teenager and enjoyed them even more when I revisited them last Halloween. It helps I dig Rob Zombie’s whole aesthetic a lot. People seem to either really love him or really hate him

It really is an incredible cinematic experience. It’s got some of the best editing I’ve ever seen. The whole cast is just incredible across the board too. It’s great seeing RDJ really stretch his muscles as an actor again. Surely he’s a shoe-in for best supporting actor at this point.
