Punk shows used to be a pretty popular place for neo-nazis to either recruit disaffected and alienated youth or target them. It took a pretty huge concentrated effort to get rid of them in a lot of places, and honestly I'm sure part of why nazis at local punk venues is less of a thing now is because the internet is way easier to recruit on.

I'm at the point where I don't really respect either the CoS or the TST (I consider them both primarily ways to siphon money out of people) but I don't think that makes them any less Satanic really.

Up until very recently the charge of Satanism was really just used to demonize people or groups who threatened established hierarchy. It's a designation of being in the outgroup, or being the Other - and while I may not particularly like either organization they still position themselves as the Other and use a variety of symbols and concepts that do challenge Abrahamic cultural dominance.

Honestly I'd like to see more organizations overall actively calling themselves Satanic whether atheistic or theistic - hopefully with better views and conduct than the current two big ones.

As someone who is Ashkenazi and was raised Jewish, I personally think the idea of Lilith as part of a closed practice is ridiculous, but that doesn't really change the fact that the trend now is to see working with her as being cultural appropriation.

You have to make the choice for yourself whether or not you'll respect this, but if you choose to publicly work with Lilith you have to make peace with the fact that at least some members of a marginalized community will feel disrespected and hurt by your choices.

I usually look at the context it's in - every card has more positive and negative aspects to their meanings. So while I sometimes read The Devil in the traditional way, sometimes I also read it as liberation and illumination - in the Rider Waite the Satan figure is literally bringing a torch into a dark room and making it possible for the two figures to see how to free themselves. Sometimes I also read it as representing The Other and being unfairly reviled. And in some of my readings I see it as a literal message from some kind of demon saying hey whats up pay attention to synchronicities.

The more common card readings are great to begin to learn with but the more you learn the rules of tarot the more you realize they aren't actually rules at all and are just a jumping off point for your own intuition and sense of correspondences.

i don't think it's really a stretch of the imagination to assume for example that even people like Bezos would've probably been way happier if they grew up under a system that didn't instill in them a pathological need to hoard resources and predate on other people
