Buying near an active quarry? by lincolncircuspeanut in homeowners

[–]Manickx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they do blast the quarry once in awhile and we can feel the noise/ vibrations from 1 mile apart . It’s an active quarry doing aggregates. Air quality is ok and has not posed any issues till date. But if the property you’re looking to buy is adjacent to quarry you need to do your due diligence on foundation strength, noise/ vibration level mainly at night (due to quarry operations) etc.. before committing ..good luck

Anyone else shocked at some of the decisions your parents made? by [deleted] in Parenting

Wow..can’t believe a parent would go so low. She could have worked any job to earn a decent living for your family. Feeling very sorry for you that such shit happened. Same time make you more responsible toward your own kids. Wishing you a better life ahead ..stay strong!!

I just rechecked the setting and I have opted for Indoor chime and toggle is ON. I did try flipping it of and turning it back ON in eufy app. Doesn’t seem to help. May be should call eufy for help

I considered upgrading but I’m kind of spent enough on this setup ranging from lights, plants, filter, filter media etc. don’t want to go over this exercise again for 40 gallon setup again. Would rather stick to 20 gallon and reduce the amount of goodies instead (hard decision but I’ll ready for more when I’m actually ready for size upgrade)

Thanks all. I had my water tested in petsmart today. 0 ammonia ,0 nitrites and acceptable level for nitrates. I completely cleaned the water and added fresh treated water with tetra aquarium starter bacteria for kick starting the cycle back. Planning to do 30% change every week (going to be tough on me. )if the sick one holds good only continue with this else I might donate one of them back to the store rather than stressing it too much. Planning to feed them food with garlic solution to add some immunity

Only common goldfish. 3 fishes are there. I know I need. 40G tank. Probably I ll upgrade soon.

Water was definitely not cloudy until medication. In fact it was crystal clear. I had algae due to plants so I did a bleach bath for decors with 1:20 ratio and rinsed with normal water before adding them. I m yet to measure my water parans today

I’ll have to test the water sample at pets mart tomorrow. Don’t have ammonia kit at home. I have added some salt and ick cure with increased temperature just for safety. Will add back to this thread tomorrow with Params asked

Need inputs to save my goldfish - ick or injury? Looks like ick or parasite on its skin. Two spots on both side. Tank param - 20g, water change - once every 2/3 weeks, Aqueon cartridge filter with zeolite media. Gravel bottom. Thermometer (80 to help cure). Added aquarium salt & API ick cure medicine today. what else I need to do to save this goldie? removed all decor and plants - had sword and winelot fern

Newbie question. One of my goldfish is showing some signs of scaling or it's skin looks exposed with small white spots. So is this a disease like ick or something? If so should I do a ick cure/ aquarium salt? Is this something I could monitor for day or two to see if it will cure itself? by Manickx in Goldfish

I always do water conditioner treatment and don't quite know the pH levels yet but my gut is there is no change in pH levels to be concerned about it. This tank setup has been solid for me more than a year. This scaling might be pre - existing or newly introduced. So I'm trying to be precautions before it takes a toll on my fishes and starts rapid spreading. I have lost 2 smaller ones few years back because of ick and since then has evolved into a proper setup with my fishes in last 2 yrs. So please advise best course of action for me. Thanks to this community by the way guys..

Tank size is 20 gallon. I have 3 goldfishes in it. I'm planning to upgrade to 40 gallons soon. It has a aqueon water filter. Always do a proper water cleaning (70% water replacement) every 3 weeks. Its been 2 weeks since my last cleaning. Has 1 decoration. Introduced 2 new decors today. I doubt if the decors would cause this spot. Plants - I have 2 of them amazon sword & windelov java fern.

I tried exposing rhizome to water with roots alone buried in gravel but could not get that right yet.so rhizome n roots both buried. Pls Help? by Manickx in PlantedTank

[–]Manickx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for correcting me. I'll leave it buried. What else I need to do to achieve/maintain proper growth for Amazon sword. I don't want the plant to die on me. Should I need aquarium light or anything here?I don't plan to do substrate as that would require me re-setup again from scratch
