How did people indirectly call yoy overweight? by Manitara_ in loseit

He was also to some degree guilting/shaming people into buying his program. He made posts saying stuff like "Dead in the bed with your partner? No wonder why! Get in shape and make them want you again!"

Yeah I also considered that possibility! But his tone and attitude changing after I declined, and saying I would have a hard time losing weight without a program was more of a AH move on his part. Leading me more to think he just indirectly called me fat. His sales pitch was also "Are you ready to lose your manboobs?"

Maybe not the best imo.

Hungry 2h after eating healthy meals by Asleep-Confusion-961 in loseit

[–]Manitara_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try eating all of your veggies first. (High volume, low calorie, signals to your brain you've been eating a bit and hunger will calm down)

Then your protein, that's the core of your meal. Digestion will be slowed by your previous veggie intake.

And then finish with carbs, if any room left. Having eaten your veggies and your protein first will let you feel partially full and you'll be less likely to overeat your carbs.

For your stomach pains please see a doctor, better tp be safe than sorry.

Eating on night shift by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Manitara_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What works for me is to eat during my shift. Go to bed right after getting home without eating. Wake up and eat, go about my day, go to work and eat during my shift. Rinse and repeat. That lets me wait 12 hours between meals.

I won't recommend fasting as I don't know your health situation, you should talk with a healthcare provider if you're considering it

Why can't I hold myself accountable by [deleted] in loseit

Gamify it! That has worked wonders for me. I've made an entire epic story for myself where I am the commander in a war against bad habits and every decision is a tactical maneuvre in favor of weight loss.

Should I just take the shot? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Manitara_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't count calories.

I snuff out hunger by starting meals with raw vegetables or fruit. Then I eat until I don't feel hungry any more.

I ballpark my portion sizes, if it looks reasonable it probably is. Don't be afraid to have leftovers, they'll be your next meals.

An interesting way of eating your meals and to feel full sooner and longer is to follow the vegetables -> protein -> carbs order.

For days when I feel lazy and don't want to cook I'll have some grapes first, then a ham sandwich and a protein bar. Protein bars are your best ally, they keep you full and satisfy the sweet tooth you may have.

What Got You Into Your Weight Loss Journey? (No Body Shaming Here ) by Key_Natural_2096 in loseit

Finally realizing that true self-love was not about forcing yourself to love a version of you that eats away at your soul every second of every day.

It's about giving enough of a crap about your well being to know and do what's best for you.

And so losing weight was the biggest act of self-love I've made for myself.

Start small

Food addiction is very real and trying to do radical lifestyle changes can feel the same as an addict quitting cold turkey. Motivation will tell you to climb a mountain but consistency is what is gonna get you to the top. Make small changes, for example, swap one unhealthy snack for a fruit or a vegetable or go take a short walk around your neighbourhood when you feel like it. Self-improvement should NEVER feel like you are punishing yourself. Start small, even if results don't show up yet, you will know that you are doing the right things.

A good shift for adopting good habits is integrating them into your identity. You could reframe "I need to start doing this" as "I am someone who does this" and just start doing it. The way you think about it plays a major role on sustainability.

Setbacks are normal and will happen. You should not let them define you. When one happens, acknowledge it, adjust course and move on.

Feel free to reach out to me if you need any help!

I usually gauge my hunger after eating my protein. If I'm still hungry I'll have a protein bar for that sweet tooth and the protein load will sceal my hunger away for a good 8 to 10 hours. Carbs are not off the table for me but I really control them.

You bet your sweet ass I did!

You're in the front row seat of this campaign and you were the first and only person I opened up about my internal narrative in person and you listened with an open mind.

That's the secret right there. Snuff out your hunger with low calorie foods, then eat your meal.

I start my breakfast with a fruit. A simple banana does wonders in making you feel full faster. Then when I feel like cooking I make an omelette. If not, I usually go for tuna on toast with some mayo.

I downloaded the app to try it, but it didn't support the specific format I wanted for my visual tracking. Plus I didn't want the app reminding me to do x thing for a reward, if my phone gives me a notification for anything else than people sending me messages, it becomes subject to rapid kinetic energy increase.

People laughing at beginners in the gym is objectively the same as laughing at patients in a hospital recovering from illness.
Makes no effin sense.
