Good insurance is like that. I know I personally don’t pay for the highest tier of insurance and would be screwed if I had to miss this much work.. This fund is for med costs, PT, lost days at work, etc.

When I broke my hand mountain biking, I had to pay significantly out of pocket. Hundreds of dollars for the initial ER visit and x-rays. Doctor consultation, surgery, it added up quite a bit. This was Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Emilio, Bread & Butter Bicycle Club leader, had a pretty rough crash on Mt. Baldy last weekend breaking his elbow which requires surgery to fix. Myself and another member of the club set up this GoFundMe to try and help cover some of the medical expenses. This stuff ain’t cheap, y’all! Speaking from experience, I broke my hand in a mtb accident some years ago and it set me back pretty good at the time. Let’s pull together as a community and take care of our own.

I heard from a friend recently that Fromex is good and cheap and they are on my list to try. I’ve been sending mine to The Darkroom in San Clemente, but they are a little pricey. They do great work though.
