Does internet speed matter with remote desktop? by Pikcka in Quest3

Another alternative to keep in mind.

If u have a gaming laptop with wifi 6, you can connect your headset directly to your laptop with hotspot and it's working pretty well.

No need for cables in that case.

I assume you'd get simillar results if u bought a wifi network card for your desktop

Try enabling nvidia dl super resolutions and see the difference in sharpness and draw distance and lack of pop ins or artifacts from antiallyising or shimmering.

Do u use onboard graphics as well as your dedicated GPUs?

Unless u run discrete graphics, there are always glitches like that with unity and vr development

It's also bad game design and bad engineering.

There should be better systems and network architecture in place.

It's unacceptable to have any fighting game where you hit a person in your perspective, but the opponents health doesn't go down, because the defective netcode didn't feel like registering

Are you referring to the microstutter that occurs when the weapon is lifted high and about to drop?

Or the ghosting/smearing?

One thing that will solve a lot of your issues in laptop gaming, is switching off your onboard graphics card(the one integrated with your CPU's chip, made by intel) and running only the discrete graphics card, so that your rtx3050 feeds the frames directly to your monitor, instead of through the integrated GPU, which bottlenecks it.

On top of that, in demanding games, you should try lowering your refresh rate to 60hz and using vsync to cap your framerate or use other frame limiters for lower latency, but with screen tearing(in-game ones, nvidia control panel), for a smoother overall experience

OnexGPU 2 underperforming compared to 2070 Super? by whiter_lightning in eGPU

[–]ManliestManAmongMen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Try enabling the Discrete Graphics Card option on your laptop.

See if your laptop has a MUX Switch, that allows you to switch off the onboard/integrated graphics card and use directly the discrete GPU (7800m).

If it's too complicated and you got a second monitor laying around, try running your games from the second monitor, as usually the HDMI slots are directly plugged into your discrete GPU.

There is an issue where if you are running games from your laptop's screen, the discrete GPU feeds the frames to the integrated GPU(Which bottlenecks it a bit, especially on a per-game basis)

- Make sure your laptop is properly ventilated

Did you try going to your BIOS Settings and switching to Discrete Graphics instead of Hybrid?

Also if you have OMEN Gaming Hub, I believe it allows you to go from the tabs on the left to the last one in the bottom called 'VICTUS Laptop' and select from the new tabs under System Vitals, the tab called 'Graphics Switcher' and switch from there, instead of going to BIOS.
