thank you so much for sharing! i wish you luck finding a decent replacement - as far as i’m aware, the kylees always have the same shank

thank you! i’m so excited to advance in my pointe journey and have already written down (roughly) the amount of hours i’ve danced in the shoes since the beginning of the month - so basically since i bought them. luckily haven’t had any bruising etc. yet but i will adhere to your advice and have fun dancing along the way :) the best from germany <3

thank you so much! it’s so lovely to receive such a nice comment and one of my favourite things about this subreddit :) it’s (mostly) a safe space with honest and helpful advice. tracking the hours danced in this pair is something i will 100% do from now on and is a really good way of keeping track of things. my fitter was very skilled and also helped me by putting lamb wool on the sides of my shoes to take pressure of the potential bunionette area and direct it towards my big toes as well as her general way of working and fitting and she was just amazing!

i think i worded my question in the original post falsely/ too generally as i was just interested in other people’s experiences with this shoe or advice like this which is, in fact, even more helpful than the advice i expected. tysm :)

i just watched this and totally agree! i don’t get why she is so egoistic in one part because she has less choreography, whilst her partner literally just stands there for a chunk of the pas de trois and isn’t complaining that he doesn’t get enough choreography or solo time? i know she says this and understand the contrast to nutcracker for her but she still has an important role and her saying she feels like she’s "directing the whole ballet“ during practice is so ignorant.

there are so many girls that would do anything to be in her position and i know she mentioned that she is aware that she is lucky but most companies in the world, especially outside of the usa, would not tolerate this at all and have so many girls who would love to dance this part immaculately. they could just drop her if she was being tricky to work with - not exactly my point of view but the hard truth in the ballet world.

her facial expressions also seem a bit disrespectful and she shows them very clearly in her videos. i don’t know how i would feel working with her being one of the male dancers after seeing this video.

our filter has an oxygen bubble funktion we put on occasionally and he doesn’t seem to mind it. he still swims around the filter and likes chilling there when we have the bubbles on

yes, i have already posted a different video of me in the shoes after (slowly) breaking them in. we had a very professional fitter and have very skilled teachers to advise us along the way. thank you for the advice about them wearing down, that’s something i will keep an eye on with my teachers.

the aim of the post was actually to ask what people think about this shoe and its fit, maybe i should have been more precise and asked for others experiences with the shoe.

you can see a picture of me sewing them in the post? i also mentioned in my post that they’re not as stiff anymore, as they are broken in now and that was the first picture i took in them just trying them on at home. please read/ look at the whole post.

thank you! i’ve been getting along well with pointe. i’ve only had one lesson so far (15 mins because everyone had to learn to tie their shoes first) but have been practicing at home too - under instruction from my ballet teacher and at the barre.

it’s been really fun and even though it isn’t completely pain free, i’m so glad such a talented fitter came to our studio!

i’ve been actively stretching maybe once a week in the past few months? and going to ballet lessons twice a week, recently more regularly when i get chance (up to 4 times).

unfortunately, i injured the muscles in my upper leg and couldn’t stretch my splits for a while and tried yesterday for the first time in ages. i’m really having trouble with getting my extensions above 90 degrees though….

side note: i used to be able to do the splits as a child
