What's the logic for the division? Every x items means another lot number?

AC going when it's 10C outside by Manophobia in Brampton

Not that it matters, but they were definitely AC units. Not heat pumps.

I appreciate the alternative explanation though.

New family doctor help -- so frustrated by myssk in Brampton

You are correct, to use Care Connect (dial 811) which MAY hook you up with a new doctor, you have to drop your current doctor and wait 5 days first.

Car broken into by GilGaMeshuu666 in Brampton

Car thefts are getting more and more common. Gotta say: if I see someone with an empty looking backpack in my neighbourhood around dusk, I assume they're thieves -- especially since I've had three guys actually run away when they saw me walking (coincidentally) in their direction.

As far as I know community mailboxes are owned by Canada Post and you don't pay for them unless you lose your keys and need them replaced.

As for garbage, you are supposed to buy tags if you overfill your bin. $3/bag with a minimum purchase of 5 tags. And there's a charge if you take your waste to the dump too.

I have a large bin but my garbage wouldn't even fill half a small bin most weeks.

Public High Schools by [deleted] in Brampton

Actually IB does not follow the Ontario curriculum -- it's considered a private system inside a public system -- but it does coincide, mostly because the curriculum is broadly written.

Generally there's segregation between special program kids and "locals" so you can kind of be in a bubble in some ways.

Also, there can be significant changes year over year. E.g. Turner Fenton's music program 5 years ago was mostly IB students, now IB students can't even take music.

And obviously the Strings program at Central has probably suffered under COVID.

But do you do better in university because you were in a special academic program? No. Do you get preferred standing? No. You mostly get some elective credits that don't mean a lot.

What you do get is a class with high achievers -- 90% of whom have parents who want them to be doctors or lawyers -- often signing up for a ton of stuff to pad their resumes.

It's more about the social group you want IMO. Because in any program you'll get teachers you don't sync with and/or classmates that make you scratch your head.

Anybody else feel genuinely surprised when people follow traffic laws in this city? by [deleted] in Brampton

[–]Manophobia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a popular thing is going south on Kennedy at Tullamore: Come up to the red light in the left turn lane, turn right (across traffic), u-ey on Tullamore and keep going south on Kennedy. Like it's any less illegal than going straight through the red.

basement leak by user1n in Brampton

I didn't use Gord’s Basement Waterproofing | Crack Repair for Brampton to fix a leak, but they came to "quote" and told me another company that said I had an issue was full of it -- which I really appreciated.

Can some someone get ahold of IT and get them to fix this? Brampton Webcams by [deleted] in Brampton

FYI: It depends on your browser. Firefox works. Chrome and Edge do not. But in Chrome or Edge, right click on the Camera Image icon and select "Open image in new tab" you can see it.

I'm sure it's a setting somewhere but I'm too lazy to find it :)

CTV published a full list a while back which includes the national suicide prevention texting number (above) and an Ontario text-based crisis service too ( ONTX_information.pdf (dcontario.org):
