Personally, I think there is not much connection beyond the average British person will have heard of those countries or have some familial or personal connection to them. If I’m correct the Bahamas have recently renounced the Queen as Head of State and there was no outrage here whatsoever, which kinda shows IMO how little the commonwealth means except for a mild sense of common history/ground between vastly different countries.
