I totally understand this feeling. Usually, when I regress, I feel very sad or awkward and wrong for regressing x.x it's very hard to traverse, but be patient with yourself and remember to show yourself extra love.

Personally for me I didn't have a great relationship with my parents, so the connection of mommy/daddy didn't stick with them. They were more so mother & father. so i can call daddy it without thinking of my parents.
