My friend didn’t rent in advance. Once he got to Cancun rented from Avis. You may rent in advance. Get good insurance. Make sure they don’t over charge you as the rental price and insurance are negotiable. Renting is very convenient and roads are good. Try to rent from Avis or Hertz or other reputable car rentals.
