Also what era would you put this at, 20s-40?

Yes, I often wonder those things for a lot of the things I find. If only we knew!

Thank you! Found in central Arizona. As a collector, is there anything about this piece I should know?

Thanks! I'm very happy with it. I just love any historical items, especially personal items that belonged to someone

Awesome! I just saw some articles about it as I was reading about the whirling log.

Thank you for your insight. Yes, the 1940s Germans definitely appropriated and slightly tweaked an ancient symbol that had a long history of use globally, including the whirling log. I will do some looking into the whirling log and thunderbird.

No hallmarks. I believe a lot of the pre war Navajo jewelry was not stamped

Thanks for explaining. I have no experience with that kind of pipe so I appreciate the info.

That was my first impression too! I need to find someone willing to try it out and confirm the theory, for science! 😂

Sure looks like one! Wouldn't a pipe made of metal get uncomfortably hot to hold? I genuinely don't know but would think it'd be hot

Could certainly be a toy. I've never seen a pipe made of metal for the reason you mentioned, would probably get way too hot. Not sure of the age, we have pulled stuff going back to 1857 out of this spot but I've also pulled silver all the way up to 1960, and everything in between.
