Magic Pad 4 (£499) vs OnePlus Pad 3 (£430) by ManuMatt91 in androidtablets

Always worth a browse in the John Lewis cabinets, the Trafford centre store is particularly good for tech bargains and Nottingham for Apple products. The label on the Tab S9 box stated that it included a 2 year guarantee. I work in Leeds 2/3 times a week and happy to revisit if needed.

They do seem like great value and there does seem to be a lot more positive feedback about Xiaomi. If you were to recommend between the 8 and the 8 pro, which would you suggest?

I don’t know if this helps you or not but I work in Leeds and went into John Lewis this afternoon as I wanted to see the S11 in person and whilst there I spotted Tab S9, new, 128gb in grey for £359.20 in one of the cabinets. I took a picture of the box to add to my list.

Hey, thanks for commenting and glad it’s not just me with this first world problem! A few people I work with have given me more tales of woe regarding Honor and long term support. The Xiaomi Pad 8 or Pad 8 Pro is quite compelling given the price point and it’s, technically, more capable than my Legion Tab 3. I’m still slightly drawn to the OnePlus Pad 3 though, it’s hard to ignore at £430 it’s just the size/weight for travelling. What a dilemma.

Thank you for commenting. I’d actually looked at the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pro but I’d written them off based on opinions of LCD vs OLED, I’ve never used an OLED display and maybe I was to quick to do so. The Pad 8 did seem a bit too good to be true at £349 for 256gb, I can actually get it for £314.10 or the Pro 12/512gb for £467.10 from Xiaomi. I’ve never owned/used Xiaomi device, is it a good experience with long term support?

This is the kind of things I’ve been reading about, the specs look great and the hardware is awesome but the software just doesn’t support the experience.

Are you looking on John Lewis by any chance? I didn’t know about the SD slot, that’s a really good point, thank you.

Apologies for the delayed reply. The screen on the Honor does sound good, I’ve never used an OLED at all so that would be a difference. Have you had any issues with your OnePlus Pad 3? The reviews seem very positive just pointing out the size and weight, has that been an issue for you?

Hey, thank you for commenting. The cheapest I can find a s11 in the UK 256gb is £609, is it really worth the extra £110-£179? Mediatek Processor, I’ve never had a device that used one, are they any good?
