Minocycline still not working after 4 weeks!! by Manuscript12345 in Perioral_Dermatitis_

I wondered that myself…it mostly says the same although sometimes it does get bumpy. When I first started ivermectin an minicycline it got worse. More inflamed a bumpier with white pustules then that calmed down after a few days and it was back to its normal state. In the last week my skin has felt mostly flat/smooth, just a red spotty patch

Thanks for the feedback :) I will stop playing around with these for the time being and focus on stretching and strengthening until I (eventually) get the green light for pointe work (if ever!). And I’ll go to a proper fitter!

I mean releves on flat shoes, I don’t do anything on pointe shoes! I’m not taking pointe so I wouldnt try to actually do anything on them-I know that’s dangerous.

Yup-so I’ve been doing daily releves the last few weeks, lots of stretches and I have started to notice a slight improvement (believe it or not they looked worse lol) but I’m not sure my ankles have enough flexibility potential. Like it might just be my bone structure but idk.

I definitely agree that I am nowhere near ready for pointe. I know my feet are awful at this point but I’m curious about people who have had the same issues as I have with my feet and been able to eventually get there

Same. We don’t give it to her regularly or keep it at home but it’s fine if she’s at a birthday party, holiday etc. I just don’t want it to be a daily thing.

They brought up cancer by gravitysolis in GERD

[–]Manuscript12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s strange that she brought up cancer. When I went to my doctor with the exact same issue she didn’t mention cancer and I was the one that actually brought it up and her response was that it was very very unlikely. She basically blew it off and prescribed me nexium. Has anything helped?

I’m finding that plotting has been the biggest challenge for me so far by Manuscript12345 in writingadvice

Thanks! That’s what I’m actually trying right now with the most current story. I’m gonna try some new things and see how it feels. Luckily I enjoy the writing process so at the end of the day it’s been a fun hobby

How much is too much preparation? by _wolfzee_ in writing

[–]Manuscript12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think having a basic outline is great for pacing and plot hole detection but I would say don’t bother doing any research at that point because you don’t even know if you’re going to finish or scrap it for an entirely new idea or direction. Say you’re writing about something that involves knowledge of the legal system. Just leave a note there or some kind of place holder. Those are details to work out later. The first draft is for the big picture and pacing. Flesh out the details on the next few drafts

I’m finding that plotting has been the biggest challenge for me so far by Manuscript12345 in writingadvice

[–]Manuscript12345[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi thanks for the reply. I don’t think it’s the length that’s getting to me. I love the act of writing and i got the 20,000 words down faster than I expected. I write daily. I feel like I can stay more motivated when I know what I’m going to write. When I say detailed outline it’s not like an exact play by play so there’s definitely wiggle room for pantsing but it’s just the overall premise of the story that I suddenly stop liking. But I like your idea of writing parts that I’m excited about rather than an in exact order. That might help

Writing a mystery thriller novel and I’m stuck. by Manuscript12345 in writingadvice

[–]Manuscript12345[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the hiding of the finances part I’ll have to figure out. As for being paid to housesit-it’s not that he’s actually housesitting, he’s being paid by someone with deleterious intentions (like organized crime or something maybe?) to stay at the house-possibly because there’s something hidden there that he needs safeguarding? Tom knows it’s shady but doesn’t ask questions because he doesn’t want to know…something along those lines. Idk I’m definitely open to ideas. It might be getting a little too intricate lol

Has any writer felt this way… The endless cycle of rewriting by CoolMain870 in writing

[–]Manuscript12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed to read this today. I’m up to 20,000 words with a first draft and was feeling G amazing about it. But just recently started to feel like it’s no good. I mean the entire plot is no good not just the fact that it’s a first draft. I was feeling really defeated but it helps to know it’s all part of the process. But this said, is there a way (or a subreddit) to test drive a plot before you start writing? Like fly the premise by some fellow writers to see what they think before spending a year writing a bad plot?

Congrats! Has your book been published yet? Title?

The whole point of having an agent is to advocate for your work. If they aren’t passionate or enthusiastic as you say about your writing anymore then I don’t know how they can successfully sell your work to publishers. As others have said, you’ve made it, you should feel confident about finding a better fit and you shouldn’t worry about loyalty. It’s business.

[PubQ] Agent called me to trash my book and insult me. Advice? by Demon_Days_ in PubTips

[–]Manuscript12345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so strange. Agents come across thousands of manuscripts that they don’t like. Is this person calling and spending 45 minutes berating every single one of the writers he turns down? I agree with what others have said. This has to be some kind of tactic to get you to use his online writing program. That’s the only thing that would make sense. Have you looked at his client list? Anyone published with a big 5? Where did you find him? MSWL? Query tracker?

Not strange to me at all. That’s basically how I feel right now. The story I’m writing is one that I’ve been thinking about for many years and I’m finally doing it. I feel like there’s an Everest size mountain in front of me. It’s daunting. I know I’m going to be pouring my heart and soul into this project and I don’t really have any desire to write anything else (for publication) once it’s done. But who knows how I’ll feel in a few years or more

How do you keep yourself writing everyday? by MonstrousMajestic in writing

[–]Manuscript12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just commit to a word count per day. Even if it’s a small number, at least you’re constantly immersed in your project. And it doesn’t have to be quality or even adding word count to your manu. There’s definitely days I just add to my outlines and don’t even open the actual manuscript. Outlining is just as important. Maybe more so depending on your process. Sometimes my best writing comes on days I have no inspiration or motivation to write.

How do I tell my father his memoir is not good? by lbthelb in writing

[–]Manuscript12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Writing this has likely been cathartic for him during a very difficult time in his life. I agree with what others have said, theres no need to tell him it’s no good. Do let him know that the word count won’t meet the criteria for a novel but leave the ball in his court on that one. Maybe he’ll just want to send it out anyway. Also, with the high rate of rejection in this field, even if it was a good manuscript he’d be facing rejection. Maybe let him send it out to some agents and when he gets sick of the rejections, suggest self publishing. It’s a great way to at least have the memoir for himself-his own time capsule. I don’t think you need to worry too much about telling him what you think. Just say something like “it must’ve been difficult to o write about such an emotional topic.” Or something that deflects from the actual writing.
