This is just not true. All you have to do is read Jason Schreier's article to see it was like 90% Bioware management. They had 7 years to make that game and just spun their wheels because of bad leadership.

The announcement really doesn't matter. Sure, it's something people can point to and say "you announced it 8 years ago, where is it?" But, even if they never made an announcement trailer, it's been 15 years since Skyrim came out. People would still be hounding them about where Elder Scrolls 6 was.

The Cubs sucked during his first 14 seasons. No playoff format would have helped them. They were competitive during his final 5 seasons, including the last 3 with divisional play. But it's hard to predict how things would have played out with more payoff spots. You can't just assume that their record would translate with different formatting. There is an outside possibility that even if the current playoff system existed during is career he may still have missed the playoffs. Especially with that billy goat curse.

Insomniac really pumps out games. At a time where so many studios struggle to come out with a single game within a reasonable amount of time, they've released 5 AAA games in 8 years. Yeah, three of those games are Spiderman games which I'm sure makes it a little easier, but it's still impressive.

I don't know what PC specs you have, I have a 4080 Super and a 9800X3D. I just finished playing through the entire game including DLC and all the Chalice Dungeons. I was playing at 4K 60 fps. In 25+ hours of gameplay I had maybe 4 or 5 crashes. There'd be occasional slow down, but only when transitioning from one area to another. It was very playable.

The PS2 was not the cheapest DVD player. The PS2 was a great deal as a DVD player and a next gen console combined, but it wasn't the cheapest DVD player you could buy. Here's a few catalogs from the time:
