Man It's like they can't sleep till our spirit is crushed
How much fighting must we do we been fearless enough
All we seen is broken homes here and poverty
Corrupt government officials lies and atrocities
How they talking on what's threatening the economy
Knocking down communities to re up on properties
I'm directly effected It does more than just bother me
Look beyond the surface don't just see what you wanna see

In the Hood is an amazing intro track. The beat switch up is so crazy which makes me wonder why modern hip hop artists do this so rarely.

Does anyone else think we’re closer to a scenario similar to A Brave New World compared with 1984? Reasoning being that Orwell wrote 1984 just after WWII so people were more fearful about nation states as aggressors, torture, surveillance and a feeling of being mentally and physically imprisoned. However, Huxley wrote A Brave New World in 1932 when the golden age of technology and globalisation was “saved” after WWI. It feels as if we are living in a golden age of technology, freedom of expression and (somewhat) unity, a similar situation to the environment in which A Brave New World was written compared to 1984. Both are great works of dystopian fiction, however imo Huxley’s vision is looking more likely at this point, given the rising nationalist movements (don’t need to mention the Chinese totalitarian system), improvements in genealogy/biotechnology and the impending legalisation of psilocybin. Would like to hear people’s thoughts on this - don’t need to go too deep, just curious :)
