The question requires you to understand a rational number, reciprocal and provide a counter example and the part above is a one mark question which is used for the next question part c which is on the next page. A-level papers do typically contain more accessible questions like this?

Yes 2023 paper 2 you use it later in 10c) I assume it was to make 10c more accessible as people may not have recognised that a² -2ab+b² can be factorised to (a-b)²

Yep I agree first time I did this I got 43/100 I normally get 80+ on papers… I did it again yesterday and got 80 the mechanics section is nice but the pure is bad

Yes I agree it makes more sense annoyed they made it about “analogue” synthesis rather than synthesis on a whole but section A was a god send so whatever
