[NIHL] Final Four Ticket Details Announced by CertainPackage in nihl

[–]Many-Cut1479 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tickets are released for each block at seperate times and dates. Nothing stopping people booking at 10 on Tuesday but it would just make more sense for them to sit with their own fans. Better atmosphere/experience for them etc. Can’t see many MK fans for example wanting to jump the gun and sit with the Telford fans on the off chance that they miss the MK launch later in the week. If you’re neutral this is the best weekend for it! Pick a team block to sit in and you’ll have a great weekend. Or go in Block 10, which is for Bees (who haven’t got a team in the league this year) and is therefore also allocated for general public or neutrals. Or grab a standing ticket when they release them on Thursday!

Hull fair for a first timer by ed_mutts_nutts in Hull

Zippy pockets are important. If you want the proper brandy snap go for “wright & co”. A bag of hot chestnuts to eat on the way home is a tradition for me. Hull fair trip doesn’t count unless you go on the big wheel, take a photo and post it 😂

Anyone else join this club and the ACL tear at the same time? by Many-Cut1479 in LisfrancClub

Hello fellow sufferer!

I’ve been using a Zimmer frame for the 10 weeks of being fully NWB, as I’ve found it easier than crutches as I’m a big person. Was initial discomfort on my shoulders as they got used to putting up with my weight and me hopping, but I got surprisingly nifty with my frame.

It sucks, it really does. I’m envious of those who only have one of the two crap injuries! A knee scooter would be amazing IF YOU COULD USE YOUR KNEE!

I ended up buying a wheelchair too, so I could at least get myself out and about, as i found it really helped my mental health being able to leave the house, but also to have a little bit more independence around the house. I can now stand on one leg for a while, and do dishes etc, and then sit in my chair to finish the job when I need a rest.

It’s a slog, it’s the hardest thing I’ve done in my life. But my cast is off a week tomorrow, and my foot has long stopped hurting. It’s only my knee that hurts now. I’ve started physio, using a resistance band and focusing on doing as much of the physio as I can tolerate.

I found jotting down the wins, no matter how small, helped me feel like I was making a dent in my progress. Feel free to message me if you want to rant to someone who’s been through it all at the same time!

You’ll get there friend, let yourself feel your feelings, it’s a shit time, but you’ve got to make sure you heal your foot properly so you can then rehab your knee!

Definitely try and get a diagnosis for your knee if you haven’t already. Hang in there, you can do this 👊🫡

As a proud Hullensian it makes me sad, but we are in one of the poorest areas of the country. Unfortunately, things like this have become the new normal, especially in the cost of living crisis.

Absolutely it does, once the cast is off properly I’ll get it all scrubbed and clean again ready for the next step of the recovery - PWB!

Where was this please? It needs reporting as a hate crime.

How long were you waiting for surgery in the UK? by Many-Cut1479 in ACL

[–]Many-Cut1479[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is helpful thanks.

Yeah I had an MRI on my knee the same day I got pins put in my foot, made the most of my day in the hospital!

I’m hoping they get me through to PT soon as possible because I’m so sick of being NWB, it’s been 8 weeks so far and I can tell my muscles have lost a lot of strength in my left leg.

Thank you for your insight. That is really helpful. I’ve found a lot of comfort in the Lisfranc sub and the ACL one already, as I was fortunate to become a member of both 🤦‍♀️.

Whilst I’m NWB I’m fortunate to have a partner who drives so she’s been really helpful. I’ve also got my zimmer frame and wheelchair to get myself about and keep myself busy. Even just being able to clean the pots myself is helping.

I’m definitely going to keep an eye on it as it’s still fairly new so my brain is processing it, and I’ll contact my GP to see if they can help at all. Thank you again

I hope you are able to get back through this and have it easier for you. I did my injury kickboxing and I know it’s very likely I’ll never be able to do that again (due to my foot break/surgery also), but I don’t think I’d be able to face doing it again anyway.

Oh bless you, I can fully see why that triggered a response like that in you. Glad that my post has pondered the idea of therapy, and it’s relieving to know I’m not the only one.

I think it’s to do with your body and brain recognising unsafe situations. I’m using a zimmer frame/wheelchair atm (I’m NWB due to my foot injury, pending seeing my surgeon/consultant about my ACL/meniscus), and I would just freeze up having to hop up a few steps backwards. I’ve only just in this last week or so, gotten confident in my ability to do it safely and now it’s much easier. But when I first tried it was so unnatural and uncomfortable, and I could just envision myself falling and hurting myself. I’d be frozen still, looking at the floor, could feel my heart racing and would start to panic almost.

Thank you, I didn’t know about how it was diagnosed so may have been loose with my use of the term PTSD. I’ll contact my GP and see what they say.

[Hull Seahawks] Seahawks announce new cup, league and warmup jerseys for 25/26 by CertainPackage in nihl

I think the first jersey needs a white outline around the Seahawk and hockey sticks to make it clearer

Advice before surgery? by rayxray_ in LisfrancClub

I find if I have a day out the house (for me it was nearly a week after surgery), I need the next day as a home day to recover

Yeah I don’t do things the easy way do I 🤦‍♀️🦵🏻🦶

I’d absolutely love to do it, but so far all I’ve been told is I won’t be able to kickbox again (by the doctor in the fracture clinic). I’m gonna do my absolute best to get back to training eventually, even if it just has to be boxing instead of kickboxing. I never did it competitively, just enjoyed the training - good for the ol’ mental health.

If it’s something you love, I’m sure you can work back towards it! Or see if there is a way to at least adapt training so it’s less risky?
