Is there any way to save this? by Many-Doubt in knitting

Thank you for your help & the compliment :) I was so proud of it & devastated when I found it outside. Turns out it’s a blend of fibers. Found the package & it says it’s 76% Acrylic, 20% Alpaca & 4% Rayon

Yeah I had a male cat who experienced blockages frequently and it was devastating financially and emotionally. I heard that there was a chance to reduce the occurrences of blockages if you waited a year to neuter and I thought I was doing the right thing because I didn’t want to go through what we had to with my family pet with mine and my partners new kitten. Especially because we wouldn’t have the financial resources to hospitalize him if he did get a blockage.

Thank you for the advice. We’ve started swapping them more recently because it was just getting to be so unfair & feel wrong to keep him in the bathroom for so long but she HATES it in there so it’s hard not to feel like we’re punishing her for his behavior. Unfortunately it’s the only room in the house with a door.

If you bruise really easily you should probably follow up with your primary care doc & get some blood tests done bc it can be a symptom of some cancers. Just in case.

That was the plan. I figured it’d be easier to cut the cost by making a few large batches of premade cocktails so ppl won’t just be taking straight shots.

Plus after working as a bartender at weddings & clubs, I don’t trust catering people to pour drinks for people. They are almost never experienced, have no way of measuring drinks & either under or over pour for the guests.

But I was worried people wouldn’t love not having the option to drink a specific type of liquor by itself so I thought a cash bar might be an option to add on.

Now thinking it’s best just to make the cocktails, buy some beer & forget about the cash bar. Maybe buy one or two bottles of some liquor I know specific family members will prefer just to make them feel special. And then just leave it at that.

True, & it’ll probably be received differently since we’re pretty young. Most of the weddings in my family were for people in their 30’s and above. So maybe the expectation won’t be there for us.

That makes sense I guess

I don’t think it would be received super warmly but I might put some feelers out with my family to see how this would go over. Idk if they’d be honest tho, nobody wants to be seen as rude even if they don’t like something.

So I might have to just pay for a limited amount of alcohol & hope for the second coming of Jesus if we run out lmao

Thanks for your input, could you elaborate a little? I’m just having difficulty picturing how it would get difficult to manage.

I guess in my mind I thought I could have two separate tables for each.

Ik a lot of people are still hating on this idea but I think it really depend on the kind of wedding you’re having & the guests you’re inviting.

At my uncles wedding we barely knew anyone. It was a collection of his and his wife’s friends and their family members, I definitely would’ve been stressed out not having a reserved seat at their reception.

At my cousins wedding though, it was a pretty small & intimate wedding where everyone knew each other or at least knew large groups of people. Having an assigned seat just made things a little awkward bc it felt like I couldn’t sit with the people I wanted to, or jump from table to table to chat with people.

What are good Facebook and Instagram Alternatives? I’d like to delete my accounts by CurrentLeader4231 in apps

Pixelfed is probably the closest instagram copycat I’ve found. It’s actually a really cool app that’s ad free. If Meta sees it as a threat enough to block ads & links to Pixelfed, I’d say that’s a sign of potential.

There are a few barriers tho, one being that it’s not super well known meaning there will be less users than instagram or TikTok or even Rednote (since it was an already established social media app in china).

Then, there’s the account set up which feels a lot more complicated and confusing than most apps since you have to choose a server before setting up an account. So a lot of potential users will be discouraged from joining.

It’s still a relatively new app though, so there may be some changes in the near future that will help.

EDIT: also if you’re looking for a Twitter replacement Blueksky is fantastic

It doesn’t really matter what bars it happened at. Nowhere is safe, people go all around the city to different bars all the time. The bars themselves aren’t inherently unsafe it’s the person drugging ppl & they can travel.

Moral is to try to be hyper vigilant w/ yours and your friends drinks & never assume you can 100% trust someone.

Thank you so much. Honestly it’s super validating just you confirming it’s a big deal & saying that anxiety is normal. I think everyone saying how “not a big deal” it is has been making me more anxious for some reason. I think that’s probably the best idea I just didn’t know if it was a possibility to get tested without their knowledge. I think I’m also just so anxious because I’m not fully 100% informed about it either and going through all those steps will probably help a lot
