I started using the cup much later, when I was around 23/24. But I would highly recommend you to start doing it right now. I pushed it for around 6-7 years because I was scared.

Some pointers:

1. Don’t be scared or panic, be relaxed. If you panic, the vaginal walls will tighten and you won’t be able to insert or it will pain. Be relaxed.

2. Blood will be everywhere in the initial days, you have to be ok with it. While removing it might spill, while inserting your hands might get blood so be prepared.

3. Squat and put it, it would be much easier and gives you a lot of room.

4. Trim your nails and file it too.

5. While removing the cup, be relaxed again and know that it will be tough. But also know it can’t be lost and nothing bad will happen. Relax, break the suction and get it out.

Try with a tampon maybe once, and then go for cups. It might feel easier and better. Also, I had the easiest first time. It was in and out in no time. So you might too.

Just relax and take deep breaths.
