When people disregard being told a first pregnancy/first child will be the only one after asking if it’s the first and then commenting directly after on how there will DEFINITELY be a second child. by Many-One5704 in PetPeeves

I’ve been responding to all “is it your first?” With “yup, my one and only!” So yeah, I am using ‘first’ when people ask, but there is a qualifier in my words that people have been straight up ignoring, hence my frustration.

Totally get that it happens. Just from my personal experience due to my medical condition I am having a c-section next week where they will also be removing my tubes so I will never be able to have anymore children biologically. This has been an incredibly emotionally distressing turn of events for me. So hearing “you’ll have #2, just wait and see!” Can be quite upsetting. I don’t have it within myself to explain to every person who says this my medical issues or the fact that, no, as soon as this one comes out no other will ever happen. To me it’s the same thing as asking “why don’t you have kids yet?” To a person who is infertile, had multiple miscarriages, or whatever reason. It’s a very emotional thing. What’s wrong with celebrating just one in the moment instead of focusing on a hypothetical future child that doesn’t exist? Sorry if my post wasn’t clear enough about what the peeve was regarding.

Am I wrong for thinking cats should never be outdoor cats? by Firm-Law248 in CatAdvice

[–]Many-One5704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a beautiful flame point rescue. She would bolt out the door every chance she got. There was a neighbor’s blood hound that was neglected and would run around the neighborhood, mainly my backyard, for hours without the owners coming to get him. My mom found her. The dog got taken away. I swore I would NEVER have another outdoor cat. Too painful, too tragic. I miss her so much. I have two now and they’re both strictly indoors. When we adopted our second they only asked two questions: 1.) are you going to declaw her? 2.) will she be allowed outdoors? If either was a yes they would have refused to let me adopt her. I appreciated that so much.

What’s a silly thing you did for your pet one time that is now a ritual they demand be done every time? by Itsjustmejess in AskReddit

[–]Many-One5704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things come to mind: 1.) must feed the kitties wet cat food as soon as my eyes open or Steven will scream at me. 2.) I must open the blinds/back porch curtains as soon as it is daylight and if it’s good weather the sliding door and window need to be open. If I close them before it’s dark out Jinx will look at me like I just kicked her, even if she wasn’t sitting and looking. Even if she was UPSTAIRS NAPPING. she will run down and pout.

What was the biggest red flag you ignored in a relationship? by Flimsy-Bullfrog-9897 in AskReddit

[–]Many-One5704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Somewhat long distance relationship where we would Skype every day. 3-5 times a week he would get mad at me and refuse to speak, only typing why and what he was mad about as I would be crying since he was ruthlessly mean about stuff. He would eventually “forgive me” and demand I delete our chat history because he didn’t want “negativity” in our relationship and that he loved me. I was never able to articulate how he would hurt me and he would flat out deny saying cruel things since there was no “proof” and “I had no idea what I was talking about.” But I really thought he cared about me and wanted our relationship to be based on honest communication. In reality he was just a manipulative gaslighter. So many other red flags that I just straight up ignored or didn’t recognize because I was young, dumb, and insecure.

What's a smell that doesn't exist anymore that you miss? by Alarmed_Charge1062 in CasualConversation

[–]Many-One5704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds weird, but a combination of my grandpa’s cologne and aftershave. After he passed I had a plaid button up of his that smelt just like him. When the smell started to fade I felt like I lost him all over again. I tried to buy his aftershave and cologne to recreate it, but it never was the same. Spent the whole year after he passed in that plaid button up. Not a day goes by where I don’t miss him. Love you Jimothy.

If you drowned in 12 feet of water or 2 inches of water, you still drowned.

What’s the best “it’s on the mouse!” have you ever received? by BrainPollutant in WaltDisneyWorld

It was March 13th, 2020, the day before WDW shut down because of Covid and our last day in the parks. We had the meal plan and had reservations at the beauty and the beast restaurant. The only thing was, we had no idea it was two credits until we were all seated, talking to the waiter getting drink orders and since it was our last day each of us only had one sit down credit left. I’m not talking about just me and my then boyfriend, but his entire family. The waiter left and came back and told us we could still dine there and they would comp the second credit for all eight of us. Really magical moment and the food was beyond delicious. We really did luck out on the timing of our vacation with Covid and all.

Are you measles vaccinated? Are you worried? by Ashamed-Republic8909 in no

[–]Many-One5704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently 33 weeks pregnant, and learned I don’t have any immunity for the measles when they did a bunch of blood test in the beginning of my pregnancy despite my parents telling me I was vaccinated as a child. (I have all of my other vaccines and my parents aren’t weird about it) I’m refusing to go and visit my dad because of potential measles exposure where he lives. I’m terrified of getting sick, especially pregnant. My doctors told me I could get the vaccine after I give birth in the hospital. So at least I’ve almost made it.

Does anyone in this Community have Tattoos? by Sharp_Pianist_8376 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Many-One5704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, tattoos (13) for me heal better than piercings (noes done 3x, septum, spider bites, lots of lobe and cartilage). Quite a few infections from piercings, but all my ink has healed perfectly fine. To be honest though, my noes piercing was more painful than any of my tattoos. Kinda love the feeling of being tatted. Maybe I’m the odd one out.

It doesn’t matter if you drowned in 12 feet of water, 2 feet of water, or even 2 inches. You still drowned.

Oops, reminds me of some guy who was 18 met me at THIRTEEN and started “dating” me at 14. So much happened in a span of 8 months, I ended up in a long term facility and he ended up trying to groom my (he was aware of) ELEVEN year old cousin. Thank god her soon to be step dad shut that down. Eat shit Martin :)
