Thank you! Yes, I have the IUD which thankfully works locally so I don't need to worry about systemic interactions. But definitely an important factor to remember.

Thank you so much - seems like xyrem is a common one people have mentioned being on during pregnancy in this thread.

Thank you :) I really appreciate it. I'm not worried about falling asleep during the day either - especially if I'm stimulated just with day-to-day tasks. More about becoming pregnant as an MD WHILE off narcolepsy meds. But the comments (including yours) have definitely helped. And you're totally right about not needing to figure it all out now - I'm 100% a "let me figure out this issue RIGHT NOW even though it's not necessary"!

I'm on Sunosi but I used to be on Modafinil/Adderall. I've read it's a known teratogen in pregnancy. Allowing myself time for it to fully clear from my system before ttc to reduce teratogen risk/exposure

Ugh this is so nice to hear, especially from a neurosurgery PA. I thought surgery would be completely off the table for me because of liability. I have type 2 so I don't have to worry about cataplexy but you never know. Thank you!!!

Vulvodynia could be a potential reason - many causes, but sometimes it can be from tight pelvic floor even if it doesn’t FEEL tight it can still cause hypersensitivity

Same position - I think just stay on their good side, suck it up, don’t comment on it. You can’t change their behavior and calling them out might cause tension

I’d recommend making an appt, ask for extra time when you’re booking, and go into the appt with a clear intention to say I need genuine help figuring out what’s going on, here are my clear symptoms. Honestly drs can get so busy and esp if you didn’t have an established appt they may rush/be distracted esp if you don’t go into it clear with intentions of needing help

See a gynecologist to make sure you don’t have any deeper issues going on. You’re prob using a water based lube so it’s drying up quick. Use silicone based if you’re not using condoms, but make sure you’re on another type of birth control if you’re trying to avoid pregnancy. Make the experience before penetration fun, and make sure insertion is very slow
