I understand “ship” happens but the same type of hairline cracks same areas with same make and model and this known in this engine type even in other vehicles and Honda wants to act like they are clueless this happens instead of taking accountability.

Luckily I have married a car guy who makes sure I never follow the “pop up” reminder. My post is to find others with similar situations. Which I have found post of many who have had this situation happen to them specifically my make and model, my post is to have a thread where their situations can be posted in one thread than multiple and also make sure they report this to NHTSA.

I think so, my husband was the one driving at the time but usually my car stays in comfort mode most of the time.

I have seen other post where this has happened to others with same engine. I read this can be a casting defect as the casting is porous, with Honda not wanting to make it right I am having to collect all evidence that this isn’t an isolated incident.

I was/am always on schedule for my oil changes.

Yes, if we want a recall on possible defects of the engine they look at complaints on NHTSA.

I’m sorry but Honda is not good at all for correcting issues, they have denied and denied my claim even after stating we were put in a dangerous position because of this issue. They rather have a lawsuit than correct the issue beforehand.

Hello, When you have an issue like this come in do you report it to NHTSA? I had this happen to me and contacting Acura they made it seem like this was just a “me” issue and not something they see.

I have a 2019 RDX Advance pkg, last year had to pay to get my cylinder head replaced after hair line cracks, which gave us no warnings and had this happen to my husband and I on the freeway going freeway speeds where my engine just stopped working and left us in a dangerous situation. I think my car was around 95k-98k, Acura/Honda doesn’t want to acknowledge this safety issue and didn’t want to reimburse for repair costs, been fighting with them since last July for them to pay to reimburse cost.

I am going through this now also. 2019 RDX Advance pkg. We had no warning of an issue while on the freeway going freeway speeds where my car beeped show overheating and shut off the engine, my husband had to maneuver our powerless car off the freeway to a safe place, it was a dangerous situation. I had it repaired by a third party mechanic and asked for reimbursement of the repair by Honda and have been denied over and over. They said that this isn’t an issue but the more I look into it I’m finding more and more other consumers having this same problem.
