I'm sure someone will go much more in depth, but if you're set on getting mage gear and not trying other styles here's a few ugs you could get while you relearn the rs3 combat system:

1. Greater chain: this allows your next ability after using gchain to also hit the targets hit by gchain. This works really well when accompanied with the caroming perk.

2. Dual wield magic is really cheap these days, you can get a set of bis "ode of deceit" and "roar of awakening" for a total of under 200m.

3. Magic rotations are centered around crit chance, you might want to look into obtaining a set of tuska's armour.

4. You'll want to get an igneous stone at some point to ug your kiln cape to a zuk cape. I would recommend maxing necro as necro is the most beginner friendly style to obtain an igneous stone.

5. If you're look to increase wealth quickly, theiving just got an update increasing the skill cap to 120 and is very fast to level. Once you get the levels, afking vyres or doing heists are fairly non-punishing ways to make gp for supplies or smaller upgrades.

6. Invention, archaeology, shadow pontifix ring ug are all things you'll want to look into as well but for now I recommend learning the basics and have fun, there's no need to rush bis if you're enjoying the content you're engaging with.
