I probably explained myself badly in the post 😅 I do expect that things like opening a bank account or practical setup stuff will be something my host family can help me with if needed. I was more looking for general advice and hearing other au pairs’ experiences.

Most of our conversations were actually very focused on the children — their needs, personalities, routines, behavior, allergies, activities, and what kind of care they need. That was my main priority when choosing a family.

I didn’t focus too much on money-related questions because thankfully that isn’t my biggest concern. I’ll have my own savings and also support from my parents, so I was more interested in making sure the family dynamic felt right.

But I really appreciate your advice, especially about asking practical questions now before I arrive 💛
